Instead of doing multiple posts I'm just going to do one big long post full of happy fun time pictures.
New Goat
Last week we picked ourselves up a new fella for the ladies.
We've named him Loki. Brown fella is Moon.
Loki is alpine/nubian/sanaan. Very shy but he'll warm up to us. Moon took quite some time to warm up to me as well. He'll come up for a picture and like once every couple weeks will take being petted. Most of the time he's just someone who likes to hang by you but not be touched.
Soap Making
Made a couple batches of coffee soap!
For this batch I used tallow and a good strong batch of brewed coffee. I then threw in a heaping tablespoon of coffee grounds when mixing. It smells lovely!
Escapees
Our goats have found their way outside of the corral!
Unfortunately the fencing on our corral is quite... old and beat up. It's cattle fencing that my boys had stuck their heads through quite a few times. Very easy for goats to weezle through. Thankfully we recently found some fencing from an add from facebook and a friend was willing to loan us a bit of money in order to purchase it. So we start fixing the large section of the corral this week!
Garden!
We have started prepping the garden!
The snow has been gone for a while and the weather unusually warm so we have started prepping & planting the garden. We have to do another till on the rest of the garden due to grass but this section was for the most part weed-less. A couple swipes with the hoe and it was ready to go. We're laying down cardboard between the rows with straw to keep the weeds down & add nutrition back to the soil.
This garden will be completely planted by may long weekend!
