Working In The Garden

Yay for gardening!

The weather has been so great here lately.

My friend and I recently started getting the garden cleaned out. Unfortunately we have a fire ban on right now in our area (it's been very very dry here) so I can't burn leftovers like I usually do. But we pulled all the weeds.

This week we start on tilling. The plan is to till a few times and then plant, cardboard and mulch.

The problem we had with previous years is that the weeds started moving in more and more taking over everything I had going on.

But this year we're just gonna cave and till to start so we can move forward with no till methods.

Here's to hoping for a brilliant garden this year!

Sort:

That sounds like a solid plan. I don't think tilling once is that bad it's just when it is constant.

It has also been really dry here. We seeded our lawn in the fall think the ground would be saturated in the spring and it has not.

mmmmm... can't say I like hearing it's dry there too. :(
The weather has been nice but I feel like with long stretches of good weather we also have really bad storms once it finally does decide to rain.

And that means lots of damage as well. :(

Yeah, it seems like the last few years it has either been too wet or too dry.

Right?

Last year it was very wet in spring. Was great cause it filled up our dug out.
But year before that?

Bone dry.

Rained 3 times here all of june.
