Hello Hive
It has been over a month since my younger brother took ill while we were working at the farm. It was during the time of the bean harvest that he had complained of severe headaches and fever. We managed to complete the work on the farm before taking him home to attend to his health at home. All the first aid we gave him proved abortive until we ended up in the emergency section of the teaching hospital here after a good stay at the private hospital.
His health deteriorated within minutes, and all the symptoms and complications were so scary and such as I have never seen before. Watching my brother go into multiple convulsions and seizures was one of the scariest moments of my life. I have never seen such a thing so closely before. A sample of his cerebrospinal fluid was taken to various laboratories for tests, and just yesterday I was at the pharmacy to purchase more drugs. I was just shocked that just these 2 drugs on this prescription sheet are sold for as high as $40. Being effective is my only prayer; indeed, health is wealth.
I came home to finally meet my fluted pumpkins, all withered now. They have suffered from lack of water for a good while.
Sometimes I remember to water them before leaving the house, and other times I completely forget.
These same fluted pumpkins have helped a lot of people in my neighborhood, especially when people begin to feel the symptoms of anemia; it is usually the first aid they run to.
Although it is a biennial crop, I have been hoping that new shoots will emerge from it.
There is a pattern in which these fluted pumpkins can be planted or harvested, and because I haven't been at home and my constant stay at the hospital with my brother, people have been harvesting it how they wanted without wetting it. Gradually the vegetables have eventually packed up, something that is meant to serve us purpose for a good while here. Eventually, when I get the time to plant a new species, I would finally start up the garden all over, planting all the vegetables that are useful to me here. A lot of people need to learn how to grow vegetables, as not all plants can be planted or harvested in the same manner.
Today is Sunday, and I'm privileged to attend the first Sunday service of the year before attending to
their matter at home.
