Hello Hive
Yesterday I had gone out to purchase fresh tomatoes and pepper and was able to get scotch bonnet alone with no chilli. And like I have said in my previous post that I was going to source for this seeds in this manner
After purchasing the fresh veggies I took them home and opened them up with the help of a knife.
Your hands can get peppery while doing this, it’s advisable to wear a glove.
After extracting the seeds, I prepared some place in a sack. Since I was trying this for the first time I wanted the sack to be the bed rather than making a bed on the ground only to get flushed away. since tomatoes and pepper can be transplanted having it grow in a sack as a it’s bed won’t be a bad idea. Once it germinates to some height I can then think of a quality place to transplant it.
Transferring the seeds into the sac after a prior filling with quality sand was an easy one. That was done and I then added a little water to wet the sack.
This is the only way I could get thee seeds for now and hopefully if they germinate from here that is a huge success and if not I will continually look around for better seeds.
Tomatoes are really expensive at this time. In order to just extract this seeds yesterday I have bought these for almost a dollar. You can imagine if I want to make soup with tomatoes, I will be spending close to $4 just for tomatoes. If these vegetables are really expensive the only escape route is for us to grow our own vegetables.
The spinach and jute mallow previously grown saved me some cash from having to purchase them from the market hence i truly desire that I can grow almost all the vegetable that I need at home.
Today July 2 is marked for planting tomatoes and peradventure it germinates the journey continues from there and I can monitor how long it takes to grow or the requirements for growing it.
Gardening is not just money saving, you get some sense of fulfillment growing fresh veggies and fruits for your own consumption. That’s it for today
Thanks for stopping by.

That’s crazy expensive! You can buy a cooked tomato soup with that price already. I hope the planting goes well.
Exactly, recently I stopped purchasing them and make other kinds of local soup instead.
Thank you
Good day, sister. How is the garden doing? Growing some of the things we consume at home is a great wisdom in the present economic realities
