If you look at my fluted pumpkins here you will notice that some of it's leaves have withered and the plant is at the risk of dying. It is an improper harvest of the leaves that has led to this condition and if care if not taking I can lose the entire plant if this harvest method persist.

It is really important to learn gardening the proper way. Harvesting and handling certain vegetable species in certain manner can put your veggies at risk of dying. Hence it is fair to say that while we go about our gardening activities we should equally learn the special treatment our varieties of vegetables require in order not to loss our veggies after much sacrifice growing them.

I realized that a good number of people have started coming to request for some veggies for their meals. Hoping to get free vegetables from my garden. And even when I am away from home they just take permission from my baby sister and go ahead to pluck the veggies they needed themselves. I have different species of vegetables here and their harvest is all at different times and to be handled in different manner. Harvesting certain vegetable in some ways can kill the entire plant.

Fluted Pumpkins are a very fragile set of veggies and a bit difficult to grow, keep and maintain. It is often harvested by experience gardening who have been growing this veggies for a long period. Getting to harvest the leaves in certain manner can dry off the entire plant.

A neighbor came around and harvested some fluted pumpkins without my knowledge. She had come to the house to beg for some of that specie of veggies while I was away. I can tell you that my garden looks appealing to almost everyone that comes around and at every instance people get an opportunity to enter our compound they will want to harvest one thing or the other and take it home to make their meals with it.

Been unaware that my pumpkin are not yet ready for harvest she has plucked off some of it's leaves in a manner that has put the pumpkins at risk of dying.

Alot of people do not know about gardening and how to properly handle certain vegetable, not every vegetables species can be harvested in thesame manner. They all grow at different times and should be harvested according to timing and kinds

At this stage even after my fluted pumpkins have climbed higher they are still not yet ready for harvest. I am supposed to create a bamboo bridge for it to climb over and make a canopy of leaves over and above the bamboos with sufficient leaves before they are ready for harvest.

At this stage plucking off the leaves of the fluted pumpkins can dry off the entire plant and I have been looking out for it ever since to ensure that I don't lose this plant.

Growing fluted pumpkins from germination is a bit different and different from other species of vegetables. It can either and dry off at any instance hence special and pepper care and attention is often giving to this until it reaches that good stage of harvest.

Now that everyone wants to feed themselves off some leaves from the garden here I hope someone doesn't get to damage some veggie species in the name of harvest when I happen to be way from home.
