I've tried the hermit approach as a hitchhiker, and then traveling by bicycle. It's doable, but it's tiring. You sure can camp anywhere you like as long as you feel safe and don't violate people's privatep property, but reliance on money exists. With a backpack it's easier to avoid the state and you can always have crypto to store your wealth.

Having a property is safer, you can plant your own food; it needs to be in a secluded area though, if you really want to avoid the state.

I think your right, but finding suitable land away from state could be challenging depending the country you live in.

Oh yeah, absolutely challenging. And it's difficult to find cheap land, unless one wants to live abroad (depending where you're living). Another solution is living in a sailboat, buuuuuut that require a whole new set of skills.
