We have a spot where we store firewood, its not cut up but its usually dried out and ready to be all chopped up by next winter. It is under cover mostly the perfect place to dry out green wood. Using it next year it will last maybe a month or so.. but its good to have some ready to go for next year. As we wrap up on firewood season it was time to stack up more of it.
I get my electric UTV and my trailer.. Will be my first time making use of the trailer on the UTV. Lets see how it does.
All attached we are ready to go.
I bring it over to the first spot where I cut down some evergreen trees, they were in the way of my e-dirtbike's riding path. Cut them down months ago so it was time to get them and bring them over to the barn.
Now the path is clear for me to ride through. As I have been riding more I am finding good spots but some are a bit over grown. So its the perfect time to trim back and save that wood for burning.
Bringing them over, this small load will be the first. But not the last.
Starting to build up the firewood nicely. Its all green right now but should be good by later this year. The left side is usually filled with large logs, still need to get more of those.. but for now the small stuff is great for starting the fires and keeping it going on warm days.
During one of the snow storms we had some tree limbs that broke off. Cutting them down and into pieces I load them into the trailer.
I cannot burn it now, as it is "green" meaning there is still alot of moisture inside the wood. I need to wait for it to dry out otherwise if I use too much of it the fire can peter out sometimes.
A bigger load this time, between the trailer and the wood that has to be close to 1500 pounds. Sometimes I need to shift the UTV into low to move it but seems to handle it otherwise.
The pile is adding up, hopefully I can get it to the roof before the end of spring.
It looks like alot, but we fly through it when its cold.
After doing all that hard work... Having a drink.
Having a smoke, more like vape. I love my volcano.
Feels good to get a farm workout, while building up resources for next winter. Now its time to relax as the sun starts to go down. Maybe I will do it all again the next day.
I was really impressed by my electric UTV, it hauled the wood loads at least 4 times and did well. Sometimes I had to shift it into low and 4WD but no problem.. makes sense it needs that for the towing. Had alot of fun hauling all that wood with my new UTV. Will feel even better when that wood is heating my workshop and homes next winter as well.
Oh man you really saved the best until last didn't you!! THE VOLCANO - I've never seen one of those before, is that some sophisticated bong or something? What the hell does it do to or for you?!! It looks amazing, I don't really get what it does but I want one!!
But as for the rest of the post you really have some gorgeous scenery where you live @solominer you're a lucky guy. It's great that you have this land to play around in and produce lots of interesting and useful things. Brilliant to see you're also getting some decent weather over there, sun and blue skies really illuminates the beauty of where you live.
Good that you've got some firewood all stored up. I'm quite surprised how long the wood lasts from when you cut the trees actually, that's a long time it keeps which is pretty useful. And I'm pleased you now have more of a track for you to ride that electric bike of yours, nothing should get in the way of riding that bike as far as I'm concerned.
As for the UTV I'm delighted I have the pleasure of seeing that little beast in action again and great that it handled the trailer well. It's a small vehicle but it seems to handle load very well, even if it means putting it into 4WD mode sometimes.
Great post man!

Hah yeah you suggested I start talking about my cannabis routines a bit more. So there ya go! Lol.. The volcano is a dry herb vaporizer. I grind up the buds and put them into the machine and all that comes out is the cannabis vapor.. none of the smoke.
It sure is amazing here, I love all the views.. every day there is something to see if you just look around outside for a few minutes.
Hah yeah.. good to have more space for riding my electric dirtbike now. And collecting the firewood will be helpful next year.
I am really loving the UTV. Has been a great utility vehicle.
Wao dear friend great work appreciate
thanks man
Greetings my dear friend, good that you prepare yourself with that collection of firewood for future times, that is always good to be forewarned of everything, this very elegant trailer and drink to refresh you not to mention. Have a good day my friend.
Hey there long time no see.
Yep it sure is good, will be glad to have it all when it gets cold again later this year.
Yes, I was busy for a while, what a nice gesture on your part to remember my friend, thank you and here I am back.
Your electric vehicle and trailer are doing a great job! They have a good carrying capacity. It's great that you're stockpiling firewood for next winter.
I hope you can get bigger logs so the fire burns longer.
Excellent work, dear friend @solominer
Have a wonderful weekend!
Thanks, I think so too.. Me too will be working on that soon. I got a big trunk I need to cut up, will have some then.
We appreciate your work and your publication has been hand selected by the geography curation team on behalf of the Amazing Nature AN Community. Keep up the good work!
ah thanks a lot for the curation.
That's a good machine and cool that you can just charge it up for the next job. Having access to that much wood is great too. Most of us are too reliant on big companies to keep us warm and have the lights on.
You earned that drink and smoke.
!BEER
It sure is great I can just plug it in, no need to go get diesel or gas for it.
Indeed, I have many acres of just woods.. but honestly just sticking to the wood line I usually find enough.. they are always falling from snow storms and the heavy rain/wind.
I'm glad it is all working out for you! I am sure you will find more and more wood through the summer and eventually your area will be packed full of it. Love me some Wild Turkey too. I have a bottle of the 101 Rye sitting on my shelf right now.
Thanks much, I was a bit nervous buying it last year. It was a big purchase, but now I am really putting it to work and really glad to have it.
Hah yeah Wild Turkey is my goto Whiskey.. and when they have the 101 Rye that is usually my pick.
Nice.. enjoy it.
Thanks, I have couple of Wild Turkey bottles right now. The Rare Breed regular and rye are good if you like the high proof stuff. I also have a bottle of the Kentucky Spirit which is quite good. 101 is just so classic and affordable!
Damn man, the electric UTV is such a workhorse. Handling 1,500 pounds of firewood is no joke. I'm happy for you seeing the pile growing, knowing it’ll keep you warm next winter
It sure is.. quite the amazing vehicle.
So true.. gotta stack it up.
A drink after some hard work—perfect!
Hah yup
Thanks for sharing your quality Content.
You are welcome
Thanks For your reply.
Thorough preparation. It can be a relief to see a pile of wood for the winter!
Yep.. glad to have it when the weather gets cold.. will need lots more though.
Ohh!!! very practical your vehicle 🚗 to work and collect wood 🪵 consumes little electricity. I really like the model 😉. @solom @solominer
And why you have not bought a tractor 🚜, it would also help you for field work ? Greetings bro and excellent weekend 🥃 I'm from Buchanans 🥃 🥃.
really a fast work, how do you remove those with green leaves from the tree limbs so fast, is it manual or automatic?
