My Stats Through Week Four
April 17th

This is only my second weekly report, I have decided to try and do a few of these especially early in the chains history. I will eventually find a table format that I like and is usable so the look of the weekly table will go through some changes, as I learn and acquaint myself more with the spreadsheet program. So here are the Numbers for Week Four:

Post

Well I was not very active posting this week at all just one of those doldrums posting weeks for me, I generally try to make 2 or 3 post a week, but well, it is what it is.

Replies & Comments

A slight drop, in both with the major drop coming in the comments, I was pretty happy seeing that I for some reason, continue to get replies to several of my comments. I hope this is an indication that we, (HIVE), are becoming more of a social platform. My commenting did drop a little bit, but we did have a day where things were kind of off-kilter for peakd and the Hive Block Chain. Upgrades to the image server and to the wallet functions that caused a few slow downs.

Current Rep

I still like the number, I think if we can avoid paid bots on Hive Block Chain, then this will have meaning again. I have not used any bots, and have been trying to grow my account organically, as many others are also. It's a slow grow prospect, bit still it is upward movement, and I am real close to the REP 66 Level. Maybe next week if I can manage more than just this post.

Current HP

I got my first couple of power downs from over on steem, The first week and most of this one, I let it ride on Ionomy so I could maybe get the airdrop, I missed on the first week, but did manage to have enough for the second week.

The Current HP/REP/and Liquid HP is that which I have on the books at the beginning of making my post. All the other numbers are from the end of yesterday.

I had a pretty nice increase in Current HP, the largest single week increase, not likely to happen again unless I let some HIVE sit Idle. I could have increased that number by not keeping any liquid HP on hand, but you never know when a little bit might come in handy.

Earnings

Not a very bad week at all for earnings, I am sure next week will be a bit less, (fewer post). I am pretty pleased with total HP earned number remaining in the 20's. I did have one post that really spiked the numbers that paid out yesterday, so I am sure next week will be less. Can't make if you don't make, and I did not do good at making post this last week.

Thoughts on Hive

We, (I am referring to Hive users in general), are still getting our feet wet, and learning the ropes around Hive. It looks like we are really only a small community for right now, based on dApp usage of Hive.Blog, PeakD and the other front ends.

A quick look at https://hivedapps.com/, and some quick finger adding, looks to be about 3,000 of us active on the Hive.

A couple of place I have found for keeping up with changes are @hiveio, the home account, and @takenote, (Take Note - Short Newsworthy Updates from the Hive Community. (Apps, Requests, Announcements, Developments.).

It was through them that I learned someone had ported over a version of steemchillers steemworld. The tool is called Beeme - https://beeme.icu/?account=bashadow you simpley replace my name with yours and you are there. I am not sure who is behind the @takenote account nor who is the one that ported over the steemworld tool. It is not listed on the https://hive.io/eco system page, but it is a nice tool to see account activity and as long as you are careful with your passwords as you always should be there should be no problems with it.

The image server upgrade, and the wallet fixes caught a lot of people flat footed. These were somewhat planned and expected as was mentioned in the recorded DEV chat on the @hiveio blog post. It iw well worth following that account, they may not make a daily update post but they do put out update post and are trying to keep people informed of happenings. So those two accounts, (@hiveio and @takenote), are good accounts to follow.

I do not like discord very much at all, but when it comes to needing a little bit of help I will turn to it. So far when I have had a problem the folks in either the Hive Discord or the PeakD discord have been very helpful.

HF24 is coming soon, I hope to hear mention of it in the next recorded DEV chat and that should be on or around the 20th of this month, (that was the day mentioned in the last chat), so change is coming, the final breaking away from Steem is well on its way.

Picture resize was something I learned this week thanks to the friendly people at PeakD Discord. Link to my Home blog below.

Thrive on the Hiveways, and have a fun week 5.

"Weekly stats for July 2020", how time flies. I would have swore it was still April!

OOPs!!! Oh well I'll fix it tomorrow, I am still learning about spreadsheets, I think I forgot to change something. Thank you.

Hey, @bashadow.

It was pretty cool to see a version of STEEMWorld running on HIVE. It made me feel whole again. :)

However, until we know who is behind it, and whether or not Steemchiller is aware of it and okay with it (since I'm not sure if he ever made his code open source after the SPS didn't work out for him), I don't think I'm going to be using any of the functions that require passwords. As you said, being careful with our passwords applies, as always.

Now that you've done the weekly a couple of times, what do you think? Do you find it helpful to you? Is it helping you keep goals or motivate you to do more? I know you had a down posting week this time around, but does knowing you'll be posting that with your stats post make you feel like you should get back to posting?

I'm actually pretty curious to know. For me, putting together the monthly report is helpful in the moment, but then I don't really remember or think about what I did in between until I'm looking at the prior report to format and compare with the new report.

I am kind of liking the weekly thing so far, (all two of them). I am not sure it will help motivate me to post more, it was just one of those weeks, and the weather here still sucks. We have had some warming and all, but we still have a lot of snow on the ground, but it is going away ever so slowly. Cloudy day photo's just do not look good.

It is helping me stay motivated on voting and commenting however. I like seeing my comment numbers, and reply numbers, they are my favorite ones so far. they show that Hive is becoming a more Social place.

I too was having a hard time remembering where I was when I just did the monthly reports, so for me I think the weekly ones will help. It will also allow me a more complete review of the week type thing, of how I saw the week pass. Trying that on a monthly basis was hard, my memory did not go back that far very easy, to many distractions.

Distractions like while typing this my wife said the coffee is ready, so I took my almost empty water downstairs, re-filled it and put it in the refrigerator, and completely forgot to grab my coffee, so I had to go back down stairs again. It is kind of how trying to remember what the month was like, to many distractions for a clear view.

All that being said though, I really am not a very consistent person any longer, so not sure how long I will make a weekly report. But it is fun gathering and looking at the numbers.

Great report and thanks for the shout out for the @takenote account, I'm experimenting still but want to provide a centralized place for people to keep up to date on everything that is news worthy on Hive. Glad I was already of service to you in this short period of time!

It helps, in a decentralized system we need a few places to go that gather things like you, and a few official accounts like the @hiveio account. If more people were aware of the @hiveio account and listened in on the cat recording from last week they would have been aware of a few things.

Likewise if I had been aware of your account I would have been made aware of a few things earlier than I was. We are a new chain, and there really is no Community Bulletin Board, so yours is one of the first I have seen, outside of the PeakD community where people can post question and suggestion, and then the Hive IO Community where people can post Hive Related post. I take advantage of both those communities.

I'm not even sure how I found your account, but I was the third person to follow you. thanks to #hiveisalive tag.

Community Bulletin Board: I like that one. I want the account to be that. Maybe work with memos or comments on a fixed post if people want me to check out their post. Thanks for the input, I'm going to try to announce my goals for @takenote in the next few days.
