THE LAST LEAF
When I was young, I remember we had a small, beautiful house, and in front of our home, there was a very large, old tree. There were other trees around the house as well, but this particular tree seemed especially old and unique to me.
This is from the time when autumn had arrived, and I had gotten a break from school.
I started enjoying my break, and during this time, we were planning to visit our village. A week had passed. A day before leaving for the village, I was playing with my friends. Our ball went near that tree, and all my friends said, 'You go get the ball.' I went and stood near the tree. It looked incredibly beautiful to me. It was an old tree, which is why I was sometimes afraid of it. I forgot that I had come to pick up the ball. The tree seemed to be drawing me towards it.
