Oops, My Inner Child Did That
I promised myself to be neat and refined,
But bubble wrap popped and I lost track of time.
A puddle appeared—I gave it a stomp,
Oops, my inner child went on a romp.
I skipped my chores for cartoons instead,
Laughed so hard that my cheeks turned red.
Bought jellybeans, forgot the rice,
Oops again—wasn’t thinking twice.
I danced in the aisle at the grocery store,
Spun in my socks across the floor.
Mixed all the colors in one big hat,
Oops—yeah, my inner child did that.
While grown-up plans keep calling my name,
Sometimes it’s fun to break from the game.
Because deep down, where joy still plays,
That kid in me still runs the maze.
