Greeting's hivers! It's another day and another reason to thank god to be alive! How was yours by the way?
I am joining the Health Care system talks on Healthy Bee's Community and here is my opinion.

Health Care System in the Philippines

A country that provide a good health care system is a great country for sure. For me, having this kind of access in a country can keep you at ease and believe that you have a wall that can lean on when having health issues.
So how can I define our country's health care system?
Our country's Health Care System is still on path of transformation. In recent years, Philippines invested to its policies, health care workers and infrastructures. As the Philippine government wanting to achieved for its citizens that it will provide a good quality health care system regardless to their social status, hurdles and challenges exist which I observed in my citizens point of view.

  • Health Care System Funding - The funds that is used to upgrade the Health Care system in our country is not sufficient to meet the Filipino's expectation and demand for the health care. Since Philippines is an Island country, most of its good health care facilities are placed on cities which are being so far from most of rural areas here in our country and of course , cities here are few in numbers. In this regard, an emergency that is needed to tend from rural areas and required the equipment's of this good hospital will eventually be hard to responded. Add the city traffic for this travel. Really suffocating just thinking about it.

  • Patients care quality - Living in urban places will give a much better access for good hospital care rather than people living in the rural places. I wonder if they even have a simple Health Center in some places.

  • Health Insurance - This is like a bank for your health right? The problem here (as i experienced it), its so hard to claim when you need it, i don't know why they need with so much documentation when you are claiming the thing where in you've already filled up forms before you even started paying it. I hope its just like crypto, you liquidate your thing then you pay your bills. But seriously, we have a government health insurance here in our country which was being paid on a monthly basis, the thing is, to get the discount from this health insurance when you are hospitalized, you need to fill up forms from the hospital which i understand but i needed to got to the office of the insurance to proceed with the next step. Although this is an isolated case and i am not sure if somebody from here experienced this, it is still not good part of an healthcare system. It should be changed or remove hopefully.

  • Health Care Workers - Let's face it, Health care needs health care workers. This guys dreams. So basically, they move to places with good benefits and can make their dreams come true. So to cut the story short, Philippines mass produce health workers but short with it's labor force.

Reforms and Progress of Health Care in the Philippines.
When COVID pandemic strikes the globe. Our country was last or on the late to clear its COVID status. It's basically too frightening here that time that death tolls are rising. But due to that experience, our country provide a good amount of budget to develop the Health care system. Even benefits for Health workers were upgraded to let them help, because even there is pandemic most of the health workers are moving abroad, in the situation in our country at that time. Aside from that, they are also upgrading the benefit's of what we call "unfortunate" to get access in the country's medical system. Even so there are hurdles and challenges along the the way, Innovating and improving the health care system in our country is there. I just hope it develop much faster and can be utilize by much more filipino's.

Thank you for your time!

Somehow the people in the rural areas tend to suffer when it comes to medical care. It’s no a surprise but then I also think that more hospitals should be built there to help curb this situation. If we tend to ignore those areas then on what bases do we say our hospitals are thriving.

thats true. but sometimes, its not always with construction or building hospital facilities in some rural areas, especially here with island country like ours. some islands or areas are really unhabitable but people still live there. Construction is impossible base on the topography of lands but still communities were existing. Coordination of government with its people is also lacking in this aspect. It is no surprise if somebody have to suffer.
