The bright smiles and happy looking faces that surround us everyday are not necessarily the ones who have no worries at all. More often, the smiles are a mere facade hiding a sea of pain within. Then one would ask, who is really anxiety and depression free?
If we must be as realistic as possible, there's no one who is anxiety free. As active humans who all have goals, desires and needs, the moment these are not met, or things do not go the way they should, anxiety and depression is bound to set in. Some people live in a fool's paradise, believing they can always handle every storm that life throws. They keep receiving the shots, only to realise someday that they are incapable of taking it all in, then they break down almost beyond repair.

It's possible to find someone who looks perfect commit suicide, then we begin to say things like, “ he's always looked like a happy fellow without worries.” Well, the very reason he's taken his life is that he doesn't know how to handle the problem without people beginning to see him in a different light. Society always has a way of talking down on people's weaknesses and the fear of this automatically brings anxiety.
We get too concerned about what people think about us, or what they would say about us, that we give ourselves undue pressure. The pressure causes a strain on our mental health, and we begin to get depressed when we cannot be the picture perfect person. Or is it about unduly trying to fit in and level up with others? The moment we can't meet up, we tag ourselves a failure and drown in depression.
As much as a plethora of issues which fuel depression and anxiety are from things beyond our control,a whole lot stems from the ones we have created.

Taking life one step at a time would do us a whole lot of good. It's just fine to be ambitious, but when life doesn't turn out the way we expected, we shouldn't beat ourselves up too much. We should flow with the “ we win some and lose some notion” . It will help us understand life doesn't exude the rosy fragrance all the time.
Healthy relationships can be a potent way out of depression and anxiety.Rather than try to solve all our issues alone, a healthy relationship with people whom we can pour out our hearts to is important.People who encourage and support us, rather than put us under pressure are the kind we should stay around. Habits that help us to unwind and relax should be practiced more often. Meditation, sports, a walk, jogging, or whatever it is that eases our mind is just fine.
An insightful post. Indeed, Mental well-being matters, and your message on patience, support, and self-care is truly important. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, anxiety will be always there but we need to learn the technique to manage it. Good write-up.
Thank you
Profound thoughts here. Society has really had its way of making people who are in need of help to seem weak, therefore people just tend to lock up their problems.
And I agree that good relationships can be a way out of these burdens.
Life doesn’t always go as planned and that’s okay. This doesn’t mean we should beat ourselves up and slowly fall into depression.
How we handle our losses also play a role in managing our mental health.
