We should start this post with some numbers:

  1. Spurs have scored 22 goals this season which is the most of any Premiership side. It does not look like we are missing Harry Kane that much!!

  2. Spurs with a leaky defence and a goalkeeper that is flappy at corners have conceded 11 have the same amount of goals conceded as the self proclaimed best defences in world football, Arsenal.

  3. With only 2 points off the top 4 and at home to Ipswich this Sunday , I am confident that we are heading into the international break in Top 4. Arsenal have Chelsea the weekend and the way they are heading we might even go above them.

All is good at Tottenham at the moment. Cut back to over 8 days ago after the Palace defeat and things were not so rosy in the garden but by Wednesday night all was forgotten after we knocked out Man City out of the cup and then hammered a time wasting Aston Villa to shoot us back up the table.

I think the City game is when it really looked like Anges side clicked. Playing two number 6's in Bentancur and Sarr behind a Kulusevski was a masterstroke by Ange after he figured out the Swede needed more support. Maddison was the casualty however but the way Kulusevski is playing right now , it was always Maddison that was going to be dropped. Sarr is after having a field day against Man City and then Aston Villa has now given him a decent shout to be one of the first names on the team sheet. Ipswich and Galatasaray this week. He will feature but I think the Ipswich game is more important to Spurs because they are all but through in the Europa League.

Welcome to hell

Ange is most likely going to field the kids against Galataseray which will be intimidating for any player. It will really give them experience in a hostile environment. I have a feeling he will play Archie Gray in midfield here and go with Porro right back. If only he didn't leave Spence out of the Europa squad but he is injured anyway so it doesn't matter. Ange will rest Solanke and Johnson who are playing every game and go for Mikey Moore and Lankshear I imagine.

Ipswich are next up for Spurs and with Van Der Ven out and Cuti Romero also injured ( for 10 days) it will be Davis and Dragusin making up the defence until both players return after the international break. So basically survive the Ipswich game and panic over. Now on saying that Ben Davis and Dragusin had a great game against Man City and Aston Villa so in them we trust.

With our future defenders Ashley Phillips and Vlaskovic and Dorrington out on loan cover is limited in the back line so hopefully VDV and Romero will be alright. They got injured at the exact same time this time last year. It is strange. But this year we have Big Drag to come in. And he has played well since he has in fiarness.

The Cup

So we have the home draw against Man United in the cup. I wanted this fixture or Southampton at home as these were the two easiest draws considering there are only 8 Premiership teams left in the cup. This will go ahead on the 17th December. It would be one worth going to.

And in other news.

Serial toe licked Edu has left Arsenal as technical director. Last year when Arsenal were doing well, their fans were happy and hoping the run would continue. It did but they could not get over the final hurdle. This year however they are expecting their team to be on top after all the money spent and after all the process that has been trusted. However the pressure of the Premiership and the reliance on one player Odengaard who is injured , has meant Arsenal are resorting to a sort of Park the Bus tactic. There are disciplinary issues as well with the red cards. It's just not going well. The Edu news is another blow to a fragile fragile team who think referees meet in a cavarn and plot against them at every turn. They have become insufferable. I did not hate Arsenal that much until Arteta became their manager. I hated Liverpool and Chelsea more because I grew up with fans of theirs. But this Arsenal team are very dislikeable and yet again it is all going to end in tears.
