Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. It has been an incredible start to weekend football, and we have seen some incredible results so far this weekend. The La Liga Santander just got interesting this weekend as both Spanish giant FC Barcelona and Real Madrid are now neck on neck in the race to be crowned Spanish Champions in the 2024/2025 season. It was not a good weekend for FC Barcelona fans as the boys dropped points away from home against Real Betis.

It was a match Barcelona needed to win to increase their point advantage over Real Madrid but that has all come to an end as the weekend fixtures just show that Barcelona will be one point behind Real Madrid if they win their game in hand. It is disappointing to see Barcelona lose 9 point lead over Real Madrid with their recent performance, and the funny thing is that this Real Madrid team is struggling on the pitch and off the pitch with injuries, but they still manage to get the three points, which is important at the end of the match.

First of all, let's acknowledge the fact that Real Betis are a tough team and are difficult to beat at their home stadium. They are one of those stubborn teams in Laliga that no matter how hard and good their opposition is they will always find a way to make it hard for their opposition to get a win over them when they face off. Barcelona was poor in the first half but managed to get a goal, but things took a turn in the second half as Real Betis came with a lot of energy to deny Barcelona a chance and even give Barcelona a taste of their own medicine with their high line which cut Barcelona 5 times in the match.

Frenkie De Jong cost Barcelona a penalty, but I won't blame him for the loss because even when Barcelona got the lead in the late 80th minute, they still managed to fumble it as Real Betis equalized, so all that Frenkie De Jong slander, I see lately is not won't it. Yesterday's match just proved something clearly to me, which I have been trying to doubt for some time now, and that is Hansi Flick and the Barcelona squad heavily depend on Lamine Yamal, and that is not good for Lamine at seventh.

It just brings back memories of how Messi used to carry Barcelona in the past, and although this burden is not good for Lamine Yamal at this age, it just shows again how talented the young player is to already be the most important player for the first team at just seventh. I don't know how Hansi Flick and the boys are going to turn this around, but they have to be very fast if they want to push for the league title this season. FC Barcelona will be playing away from home this Tuesday against Dortmund in the Champions League. It is an important game for both sides as Barcelona will be hoping to cement their place in the top 8 which will secure a spot in the round of sixteen of the Champions League.

Looking forward to the match this week and hope you all don't miss out. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day
