Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. So it's the weekend once again, and club football has already begun. Manchester City lost yet again in the Premier League this afternoon anyway that will be a story for another time. It is matchday for FC Barcelona as they will face Atletico Madrid this evening as they will be playing their last match of the year this evening and a better way to close the year with a win against Atletico Madrid. It's been a tough month for FC Barcelona in Laliga, and in their last match, they lost at home to Leganes and were on the verge of losing their first spot position on the league table.
Atletico Madrid are a strong team, and with their form this past month, they have been impressive. Diego Semione is doing a good job this season with the team as they push for the league title this season. Atletico Madrid is in the title race, and it wouldn't make sense to write them off, looking out how far they were able to close down the gap between Barcelona and Real Madrid this past month. FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have a history together, and if we check their head-to-head starts for the last two seasons, you will notice that Barcelona has a good win streak against Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona's former coach Xavi Hernandez didn't lose a match to Diego Semione's side during his time as FC Barcelona manager and now the big question has popped out with the recent performance of Barcelona this past month will Hansi Flick's side lost for the first time in two years to Atletico Madrid or will Barcelona winning streak continue under Hansi Flick. It is going to be an interesting match to watch, and I just hope the boys get the three points needed because if they don't, Barcelona could be heading to the third place of the La Liga table.
Now, this game will be challenging for Barcelona as they will be missing Lamine Yamal from the squad today due to the youngster picking up an injury in Barcelona's last game. There is no doubt that Lamine Yamal is an influential part of the FC Barcelona squad at just the age of 17, which is not normal because most players at that age still play for the B team and not until they are 18 or 19 years of age before they are brought into the first team.
Hansi Flick and the squad need to win games and remove that over-dependence on Lamine Yamal's creativity because if they keep on relying on Lamine to come and produce the goods on the pitch, it will be a Messi Barcelona all over again. So I am looking forward to seeing how the team handles this match tonight, and I just hope Lewandoski takes his chances in front of the goal and does not waste it to avoid dropping points. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
