Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. The Uefa Champions League resumed back this week to continue giving us incredible football matches. The highlight of this week's UEFA Champions has to be Bayern Munich vs PSG and Liverpool vs Real Madrid. These two matches didn't fail to give us incredible football, and the result was not surprising because, going by their recent performance in the league and Champions League, you could tell which team has been superb so far since the start of the season.
Real Madrid suffered another defeat again in the Champions League at the hands of the Reds, and it was indeed revenge completed by Liverpool. The head-to-head start against these two teams has shown that Real Madrid had been the superior side in recent years as they have been able to dominate Liverpool each time they meet in the Champions League, but last night was a different story as the Reds sought to get a win against Real Madrid.
Real Madrid is currently lacking quality in the squad as most of their first-team players are out due to injuries this season. The recent player that was added to the injury list was Real Madrid star man Vinicius Junior. The Brazilian picked up a hamstring injury in a Real Madrid La Liga fixture against Leganes. This just means Vinicius would be out for three to four weeks from playing on the pitch until he recovers from the hamstring injury and as many thought it would be a good opportunity for Mbappe to play at his preferred position as he has always wanted, but things didn't go as planned for the Frenchman last night.
Mbappe's performance last night just showed again how the Frenchman is struggling in his new club this season. Mbappe played at his preferred position last night, and although he tried to be HIM on the field last night, it didn't work out. To add to more disappointment, he missed a penalty that would have changed the game if he had scored the goal. There was even a clip of the Real Madrid players talking in the tunnel as Mbappe tried to give his thoughts on how they should play in the second half Bellingham just aired him like he was not in there and I just kind of felt sad for Mbappe, but that is the decision he chooses to make and it playing out not how he pictured it since when he began dreaming of playing for Real Madrid.
Real Madrid's 2-0 loss against Liverpool has now put them in a tight spot in the Champions League table. The European giant is now in 24th place on the league table and could drop to the elimination zone if they don't win their next game against Atalanta. At this point, I don't think the goal of Real Madrid is to win the first 8 spots that will automatically qualify a team for the round of sixteen, but now they will be focused on finishing in the playoffs zone so they could have a chance to qualify for the round of sixteen.
