Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. Last week, the Champions League draw was done after the playoff matches were concluded on Wednesday. It was an interesting draw as it was clear one side of the round of six draws has stacked fixtures which will be incredible to watch, while the other side of the round of sixteen has a couple of good matches up, but to be honest this side is the easiest way for Barcelona to reach the UCL final this year.
FC Barcelona will be playing Benfica in the round of sixteen by March 5 next month, which is approximately a week away from now. Before the match, FC Barcelona will be playing Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Copa Del Rey semifinals, and next, they will face Real Sociedad in La Liga Santander, then have two days just to rest before heading to Portugal to play Benfica away from home in the UCL. It is going to be a stacked one week for the Catalan side, and in all these fixtures, they have to win all three of them at all costs.
Hansi Flick and the boys can't mess this UCL journey up, as they have to be focused and give their 100 per cent in each game to come out with a victory. Hansi Flick will have to do some rotation to avoid the players having fatigue in the upcoming matches and I think this is the perfect opportunity to play Pablo Torre, Pau Victor, Ferran Torres and Hector Fort in the match against Real Sociedad in the coming weekend. Pablo Torre has been one of the players not getting enough game time at all in this squad and it is kind of sad to see because the young lad is a talented player without a doubt.
Ferran Torres has been incredible this season for Barcelona. Last night, he scored the second goal that sealed the three points for Barcelona against Las Palmas as the Catalan side pushed to keep their face at the top of the league table. Ferran Torres playing Lamine Yamal's side should be considered so Lamine can get some rest before the Champions League match because I am sure Hansi Flick will be using his big guns this week against Atletico Madrid in the Copa Del Rey.
Injuries have been a common thing for Barcelona so far, but now it is only Andres Christensen who is yet to return from injury, which is taking longer than it was initially reported for the player to join back with the squad. I just hope no injury problems happen to the players this coming week, as they all need to be at 100 per cent for the matches ahead. Everything is going well for Hansi Flick and the boys as they have not lost a match since the start of the year, which is impressive, and I hope this form continues for the team.
It is going to be an interesting week ahead and I am ready for all the excitement that comes with it. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
