Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. So, we are still in the festive season, and I hope everyone is having a splendid holiday. Some leagues are still active during this festive season, while some are currently on a break. It has been a tough end to the year for FC Barcelona as the club faces on and off-pitch problems in Laliga. During the week there was news flying around which said that Barcelona was at risk of having Dani Olmo leave as a free agent if the club failed to register the Spanish player by 11:59 pm on the 31st of December.
Barcelona was facing trouble registering Dani Olmo, as Laliga was only going to let the signing happen if Barcelona returned to the 1:1 rule. At first, I didn't understand what the 1:1 rule was, so I did my research and understood what it was all about. So the 1:1 rule states that the club is only allowed to spend as much as they make in realized revenue, which simply means that if a club is getting 500 million euros it is not entitled to spend not more than 250 million euros. This rule is put in place to control ridiculous spending so clubs don't fall into debt on sell-off by private investors.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has said that the club has returned to the 1:1 rule after closing a billion euro deal with Nike, one of FC Barcelona's longest partners, but it seemed not to be the case with Laliga as they refused to let Barcelona register Dani Olmo. Barcelona took the matter to court as they felt Laliga had an ulterior motive preventing the club from registering Dani Olmo. Unfortunately, the court rejected Barcelona's appeal two days ago, and this caused a lot of worries for many Barcelona fans worldwide.
It still surprises me that each season, this same issue of having trouble registering players always happens, which is tainting the club's status. Yesterday, news came out that Joan Laporta(FC Barcelona president) has successfully been able to make the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor possible, which is good news because now the club won't risk letting Dani Olmo leave as a free agent. It's impressive of Laporta to make the registration possible, but it's time Laporta make sure these issues stop arising again in the future.
The big question I am asking now is why has Barcelona constantly become a target in La Liga because nothing is hiding again with the way Laliga has been moving lately, they even made a fake edit of putting Vinicius in a picture where Barcelona players were devastated after the winning goal scored by Sorloth in the match between FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. There is a clear favoritism toward Real Madrid, and that is the truth, even though some may disagree.
The good news for many Barcelona fans is Dani Olmo's registration being completed, and I hope to see the best of him in the second half of the season. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
