Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. Since the departure of Sergio Busquets, FC Barcelona has found it difficult to replace his role on the team, and it has been an issue for about two seasons. Sergio Busquets is a legend at Barcelona, and it's truly remarkable how he alone took that DM role at the club for many years, and no one could bench him because each time he was on the field, it was impossible to get the ball Sergio Busquets because he was so calm whenever he was with the ball.

There was a saying at that time which I remember, “ Pressure Sergio Busquets at your own risk,” as no matter how high Busquets was pressed, they made it easy for him to move with the ball, and that was just incredible to watch every time. When Busquets was reaching his final season at the club the only player who showed promise in Barcelona to replace Busquets was Nico González, but the La Masia graduate was sent on loan to Valencia then when he came back to Barcelona the following season he was sold to FC Porto and a buy-back clause was added to the deal, but things have taken the new turn in Hansi Flick era.

Since the introduction of Marc Bernal and Marc Casado, the FC Barcelona DM role has transformed and has impacted the squad's strength this season. Marc Bernal, who was Hansi Flick's first choice in that role, picked up an ACL injury earlier this season, which will see him out for the rest of the season. Marc Casado, who was a backup for Marc Bernal according to a report, has been sensational this season for FC Barcelona in all competitions. Marc Casado has given Barcelona fans what we thought was lost for a long time which is that solidity in the DM role.

Last season Xavi wanted Zubimendi at Barcelona, but the player turned down the offer as he only wanted to be at Real Sociedad now looking back is kind of funny because what the club was looking for was at their academy all along just waiting to be given a little chance and now Casado has blossom on the which has not only gotten him a start to every game in Barcelona but also a place in the Spanish national team were he is also playing well which is good for the youngster.

Marc Casado has solidified himself, and if he keeps this form up, we are going to be seeing one of the best midfielders in the next 15 plus 20 years to come in football. Hansi Flick keeps on transforming different positions in the squad, and with the last training session I watched from the Barcelona X official page, I feel I am still yet to experience the best of what this squad has to offer. Looking forward to seeing the boys return to action against Celta Vigo this weekend in La Liga and next the Champions League. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
