Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. It is the weekend once again, and club football has already kicked off yesterday, but something interesting happened during the midweek fixtures in La Liga. The two Spanish rivals FC Barcelona and Real Madrid played during the week as they pushed to be crowned Spanish Champions in the 2024/2025 Laliga Santander. FC Barcelona made a statement during the week as they beat Mallorca 5-1 away from home after having a winless streak in November.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, lost to Athletic Bilbao away from home during the week. It was the perfect opportunity for Real Madrid to get the upper hand against Barcelona as they still have a game in hand but as it stands now even if Real Madrid wins their one game in hand they will be one point behind FC Barcelona and although is nothing to be happy about because FC Barcelona bottle a 9 point lead in November because of how badly the boys have played but I hope with the win against Mallorca gets the boys spirit high and push to win every match they play this season.
Real Madrid is going through a difficult time this season which is clearly showing in how they play on the field, to add more trouble to their worries they are having injury problems as some of their first-team players are out for the season and some are still recovering from the injury they picked up for the past one to two months. Ancelotti has a lot on his plate as the Galacticos are possibly facing an eviction in the Champions League table. If Real Madrid loses their next Champions League match, they will automatically drop to the elimination zone.
Kylian Mbappe was one of the reasons Real Madrid lost the match against Athletic Club, and I am not hating, but it is just the fact that his performance this season has been average. It's just as if Real Madrid got the wrong Mbappe at the club and I won't say because it's his first season at the club. After all, some fanbase were not ready to listen when Messi joined PSG about two to three years ago. Mbappe missed a penalty against Athletic Club which, if he had scored, would have changed the game for Real Madrid.
Mbappe has blown his chance to make an impact as Vinicius Junior is out due to an injury because he is playing at his preferred position, but still, it is not clicking up for the Frenchman. I think at this point, once Vinicius Junior returns, Mbappe should start from the bench. That is just my opinion because he has not proven yet why he needs to be a regular starter for Real Madrid with the poor performance he is having this season. The big question now is if Mbappe will return to his excellent form like when he was in PSG, while only time will tell for the Frenchman soon.
So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
