Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. Manchester City has started the new year with two wins after a horrible performance two months ago in all competitions. Manchester City's problems started when the current Ballon d'Or holder Rodri picked up an ACL injury in the match against Arsenal and honestly, I have taken my time to study that match which brought me to the conclusion that Arsenal players did not play fair in that match and if anyone is says Arsenal did nothing wrong then the individual is just ignorant.
There was a clear message in that game and that was to take Rodri out of the match because I don't understand why Kai Havertz fouled Rodri in the early seconds of the match when Rodri was not even with the ball and then Thomas Partey did the finishing touch as he fouled Rodri which resulted into a ACL injury. It is quite simple that once a player picks up an ACL injury it officially means that player will be out for the rest of the season. Arsenal players didn't do better in that game, and now I understand why some people think the Gunners are using dark art to play.
Rodri is a huge part of the Manchester City squad, and Pep Guardiola( Manchester City manager) has expressed the importance of Rodri to his team. Manchester was in a worried situation during the last two months of 2024 as we all saw the club lose back-to-back matches in all competitions. It is easy to tell if you watch Manchester City games that they lack that quality DM which has caused a crack in City's midfield. It just proves over and over in each Manchester City match that Rodri deserves the Ballon d'Or because of his impact on the team.
Manchester City are sixth on the EPL table because of their recent performance, but I still think City can win the league regardless of their setback. It is impossible to write Manchester City off from the title race, not until the final matchday of the EPL. This same Manchester City won the league with just one point above Liverpool in one of their best seasons in the league. It won't be a surprise if Manchester City goes on a winning streak for the rest of the remaining matches in the league and still somehow manages to win it. That would be crazy but it's nothing new for Pep and his team.
It is going to be a roller coaster in the second half of the season in the EPL, and as it stands, the current teams in the top four are doing good, especially Nottingham Forest, but there is still a long way to go, and I am sure there will be more changes on the table. It's going to be a long ride and I am looking forward to seeing how it unfolds on the last matchday. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
