Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. The international break is slowly reaching its end as club football will officially kick off this weekend. Now one of the trending topics during this International break is Kylian Mbappe's message to the French national team that he will only play important matches with the national team as he is more focused on playing for Real Madrid and wants to win the Ballon d'Or. I thought it was a joke, but after many sources confirmed that the Frenchman said those things to the French national team, I felt disappointed in Mbappe.
Some people will say the Frenchman did nothing wrong in telling the French national team and coaches his mind, but if we look at this statement and comprehend everything, we will find out that he has not only disrespected the French national team and coaches but has also disrespected other national teams in Euro. In context, Mbappe is saying that he will not participate in matches when France faces Lithuania or Romania but will be ready to face Spain or Germany, which just shows he has no regard for the other national teams because they are not tough to play on the field.
Mbappe should not make such statements when knowing fully well he is the captain of the French men's national team. This is not an example a captain who is looked at as a leader should portray for the team because he has to leave by example. Many players are still hoping that the French coach will call them up to play for their country, and they find joy in offering that service to their country on the football pitch. There is no crime for him to push for his personal goals but he can as well retire from the national team to do that and not determine how he will play for the team because no one is bigger than anyone on the team.
France has made history on international stages even before Mbappe dreamed of playing for the national team. France was already a World Cup holder even before Mbappe was born, so if he stops playing for them tomorrow, it doesn't mean France will not continue to win in the biggest stages of international football competitions. There has not been any response from the French FA yet, but I think they should strip him of the captain's armband and also not call him up to play for the national team until he apologizes for that statement, but his teammate and the French coach seemed to support Mbappe's decision.
Since the French coach and teammates are okay with Mbappe's decisions then I doubt if the French FA will say anything and it will probably go down in a few days and be forgotten, I still think something should be done, but wait until he is there best players so they don't see faults in any decisions he takes which is not good because now it seems that he is untouched and we all know the last time Mbappe had much power in PSG we could see his attitude on the pitch, but anyways let just look at house everything goes with the Mbappe and the French team for here.
