Real Madrid's Refereeing Complaints: A Taste of Their Own Medicine?

Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. Over the past week, I have been seeing a lot of complaints by Real Madrid TV and their fanbase on the subject of the referee's bias toward them lately in Laliga. This subject is one that I have been avoiding, but since the match against Rayo Vallecano last night, the complaints from the Real Madrid fanbase have been off the charts, and I just want to give my thoughts on the situation happening between Real Madrid, Laliga and the refereeing body.

First of all, it is funny how the tables have turned this season, and now Real Madrid is feeling the heat of what the FC Barcelona fanbase has been complaining about for years in the league. Last season, I remember vividly when Real Madrid coach Ancelotti was asked about Xavi's complaints about referees' incompetency in the league, and I quote what the answer Ancelotti said. “ I have no comments on the refereeing decisions on the field. I won't stop down to that level to talk ill about Spanish football”. Those were the words from Ancelotti last season.

It's funny now how Ancelotti is doing the same thing he talked down on last season, and I am supposed to believe because it's coming from Ancelotti, then it is okay what kind of double standards are being set by the Real Madrid fanbase. Former FC Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez complained a lot about the referee's decision-making on the field last season which cost Barcelona some vital points in the league title race, but the Real Madrid fanbase used to say in that period that Barca fan base cried a lot as they should focus on winning matches than waiting for referees decisions to be in their favour.

There is no doubt that there is a refereeing inconsistency in Laliga that has to be addressed, and according to Tebas, he made a meeting concerning this issue and asked clubs to take a vote, but Real Madrid was reluctant to participate in their exercise because the refereeing decisions favoured them more during that period. If the Real Madrid fanbase is complaining about a robbery, then they should think back to the Copa Del Rey match they had against Celta Vigo when Lunin made that challenge on a Celta Vigo player in the box, which was a clear penalty, but it was not given to Celta Vigo.

Real Madrid is now playing to leave the league as a form of protest against Laliga and the refereeing body. This Real Madrid recent outburst is just overreacting because they made this issue escalate to this point. Some Real Madrid players are denying their comments on the refereeing situation like Valverde. It is going to be a long ride to the end of the season, and I am looking forward to further development on this issue and I will give an update if any pops up in the coming days. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
