So there is news flying around about Trent Alexander Arnold leaving Liverpool as a free agent next summer which I have confirmed To be through since Arnold is not willing to extend his contract with Liverpool as he believes his chapter with the club has ended and I guess that since Klopp left Liverpool last summer it was the push that Arnold needed to close his chapter with the reds at the end of this season.
Apart from Arnold, another player is leaving as a free agent next summer, and that will be Alphonso Davies. The Canadian and Bayern Munich player will be leaving Bayern at the end of the season as he has decided to close his chapter with the German giant at the end of the season. Alphonso Davies not renewing his contract with Bayern Munich is not news as it was one of the top stories last summer. Real Madrid are interested in the left-back, and since his contract will be expiring soon, they hope to get him for free next summer.
Now, these two names have connections to Real Madrid's interest, which seems to have shifted from Davies to Arnold as the Spanish giant is looking to get the Englishman next summer, which is a good replacement for Dani Carvajal, to be honest. Arnold is one of the best right-backs in this present generation, as the stats and achievements are there to prove this statement, and honestly, I would love it if Barcelona entered the bidding war with Real Madrid and tried to convince Arnold to join next summer.
FC Barcelona has set their eyes on Alphonso Davies and the club is aware that it would be hard to sign the Canadian, but are willing to do everything in their power to convince Davies about the Barcelona project and Hansi Flick could be a key factor in making the deal possible as he has coached Davies before in Bayern Munich and the two have a good relationship. Davies coming to Barcelona will be good as it will give Barcelona additional manpower in the squad, but in my opinion, I would prefer Barcelona to go for Arnold rather than Davies because Balde can offer more than Alphonso Davies in that left-back position.
Balde still needs to improve on his delivery, but I don't think getting Alphonso Davies is necessary; Trent will offer way more for Barcelona at that right-back position, which Jules Kounde has been handling well since last season, but Kounde lacks that quality in attacking which Arnold can offer at any given time. It is going to be an interesting summer and one of these players will either be in Real Madrid or Barcelona next season if both clubs can outbid each other and convince any of the two to join their club. Let's wait and see how the summer window kicks off next year.
