Xavi's Legacy, Flick's Triumph: The New Era of Barcelona Football

Good morning everyone and welcome to my blog. There has been an ongoing argument on who started the new era in Barcelona between Xavi and Hansi Flick. Former Barcelona player Thierry Henry was the person who started this conversation on the Champions post-match talk on the CBS channel, and it brought many Barcelona fans on X to share their thoughts on the conversation. Frankly, I agree with the comments I have seen on X in the past hours.

FC Barcelona currently has a lot of youngsters in the squad, and honestly, the oldest players in the squad are not even up to five, as the squad is dominated by young players. Lamine Yamal and Pau Cabarsi are the only 17-year-old players on the field while the rest are from 18-21 years which is crazy because I am sure apart from FC Barcelona who will hardly see a top club in Europe that has two 17 years old players as a regular starter on the team squad list, but only in Barcelona you can find such thing happened and that is because of the quality La Masia produce.

Xavi deserves to be given recognition because he came at a time when nobody wanted to take the job in Barcelona, took the team that was 9th on the table to finishing 2nd in the league table, and the following season, he won the league title and the Spanish Super Cup trophy. Xavi did all this at a time when Barcelona was struggling financially and could not even enter a bidding war in the transfer market. FC Barcelona could not even register players in La Liga on time because of the strike rule from Laliga FA due to that financial situation, which saw them cut down a lot of wage bills at the club.

The likes of Lamine Yamal, Fermin Lopez, Gavi, Cubarsi, and Marc Casado were all scouted out by Xavi from La Masia Academy and he brought them into the first team. Xavi gave them a chance and the rest is history as we quite know it, but it didn't click for Xavi immediately as a lot of things were happening towards the end of the season which saw the Barcelona legend get sacked by the board at the end of the season, because the main plan was for Xavi to continue this season as he was supposed to sign a renewal, but after the comment he made in a post-match conference about the team not ready to compete with the quality available.

The Barcelona board was not happy with the comment Xavj made and immediately called for a meeting, which saw the time of Xavi as a Barcelona manager come to an end. Hansi Flick has picked up the pieces from where Xavi left off and has succeeded in putting their pieces together because now this Barcelona team has won it all, I mean the Champions League, La Liga, Copa Del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup this season. Hansi Flick has rivaled the squad, as everyone wants to give their best when called to play on the field.

The Hansi Flick era has just begun, and once again, I say big thanks to Xavi for kick-starting this new era for FC Barcelona. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
