PEP KILLING FOOTBALL?

We can forgive Evra as per the language barrier. By he "killed the game", he actually means Guardiola's style inhibits instinctive creativity.

Someone wrote in support Evra–
"That system[Guardiola-esq system] is making the Ronaldinho, Pele,Okocha, Zidane and Robinho incarnations like Neymar, Antony, Ademola Lookman,Jeremy Doku, Alan Saint-Maximin, Mohammed Kudus and other skilful players less important in the game. Football should be skilful and entertaining."

Well, it's true football started on the streets, but on whether it should continue to allow people freely showcase their creative skills, I have no answer to that.

For me it's a free world, Vinicius jnr and Kylian Mbappe are given the licence to do those kind of dribbles.
Real Madrid being one of the few that refuses to go the Pep way.

So it's a choice.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE STYLE

Things like Pep's system is why C. Ronaldo went to Saudi Arabia. These are the days of total football, everybody is an attacker and defender at thesame time, men like C.Ronaldo, Mesuit Ozil and even James(captain of Colombia) couldn't cope.

It was just Messi, Pep indulged to play freely because his talent was just genius.

Thierry Henry was shocked when he began to be coached by Pep. Pep told him to not to rove about. There's a whole lot of structure that does the thinking for you.

Henry was freer at Arsenal, he had the licence to run the show from midfield and either flanks at will.

Pep said no, I have those who do the business in midfield, stay upfront when we have the ball.

One day Henry was bored and he did that his long jinking run, exchanged a few pages with a team-mate in the opppsite flank AND SCORED. Instantly Pep was infuriated and substituted Henry at halftime.

There's a rigid structure with Pep, you fall in or you fall out.

Things like Pep's system has silenced the original number 10 role. It has silenced that player we used to call the assistant striker. A certain Kelechi Iheancacho, who played as a number 9 under Pep is actually not a number 9, he should be the assist number 9, but that role does not exist in the Pep's system.

The man, Pep, is a Professor and has revolutionised football. And success brings with it disciples– so everyone began to copy the style.

However for some folks, it's still a pleasure to see coaches like Ancelloti who plays a style football that gives more ventilation to creativity as of old.

We even see an Arteta who differs from Pep in another way. Arteta is an amalgam of Moyes and Pep.

Thanks
