A BETTER NATURE FOR A BETTER FUTURE: CLEAN UP DRIVE ACTIVITY (BLOG #032)

in Environmentlast month
Hello my amazing Hivers! How are you? I hope you're doing well. It's @xavierariz and I'm back again with another story to tell.

GOOD DAY, EVERYONE!

In this blog I'm going to share with you all an activity that our school organizes to contribute to a better environment. It is actually part of the CWTS curriculum, also known as the Civic Welfare Training Service. This was actually the second clean up drive that we did, the first one was near the coast but unfortunately I didn't had the chance to document it. The said time for this clean up drive was at 5 am to 7 am and we were actually also told to take documentation. So come with me in this amazing initiative!

When we arrived at the area, we immediately started wearing our hand gloves and face mask to be fully prepared, we also took out our sack each pair. It was so nice to see a lot of students working together for a better environment. This clean up drive was not just for our sections, but with other departments also.

DURING: FIRST LOCATION

First stop, we found some plastic trash piling up so we immediately picked it up and put it in our sack. There were no foul smells yet but plastics were everywhere. We kept on walking and picked up the trashed we saw as we get going. Once there were no non-biodegradable trashes, we then continued walking to find our second location.

DURING: SECOND LOCATION

Now, come with me as we found our second location. If I'm not mistaken, this place served as the resident's own pile of trash, however, they did not use a trash bin and just threw everything into one place. In this location, we were so thankful that we wore a mask because of the unpleasant smell. We mostly found plastics and broken cellphones in this area. There were bottles too.

AFTER

We actually filled our sack on our second location because there were just a lot of garbage there. It was almost 7 am when we finished and it was so fulfilling. Although this clean up drive may not be enough to save the environment but if we all work together, I believe it will be possible.

That's it for now my amazing Hivers! If you like reading my blog, feel free to check my profile to read some more.

Clean up drive helps the environment clean and makes the ecosystem healthy. I hope more youth will continue to do the same voluntarily. Good job.
