The Los Angeles County sheriff recognized Monday that he requested eight agents to erase realistic photographs of the site of the helicopter crash that killed previous Lakers star Kobe Bryant and eight others.

Sheriff Alex Villanueva revealed to NBC News that he was concerned the photographs would get shared and increase open appropriation.

"That was my No. 1 need, was to ensure those photographs never again exist," Villanueva said. "We distinguished the appointees in question, they went to the station all alone and had conceded they had taken them and they had erased them. Also, we're content that those included did that. ...

"We've conveyed explicitly that the conduct is unforgivable. That is to say, individuals are lamenting for the loss of their friends and family. To have that on what they've just experienced is unconscionable. What's more, to figure any individual from our area of expertise would be engaged with that."
