Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike said on Thursday the metropolitan government was working with coordinators to guarantee a protected Summer Olympics in the midst of the difficulties of the coronavirus flare-up.
Koike gave an announcement after the International Olympic Committee held an executive gathering this week at which the board voiced its full responsibility to a fruitful Summer Games.
"We will keep on working in full coordinated effort with the IOC, the Tokyo 2020 sorting out board of trustees, and the national government to guarantee the conveyance of a protected and make sure about Games," Koike said in the announcement.
