Eddie Pepperell thought he had recouped from a languid begin to post a level-standard 71 at the Qatar Masters on Thursday, yet it meant nothing after he was excluded for a scorecard blunder.
The 29-year-old Englishman finished paperwork for a standard at the sixteenth opening and a birdie at the seventeenth in Doha, having really made those scores the other route round.
The 2018 Qatar champion uncovered the mix-up originated from disarray among him and his accomplice at the Education City Golf Club.
"My DQ today wasn't because of me coming up short on balls or hitting anybody; rather, I finished paperwork for an off-base score," Pepperell composed on Twitter
"My aggregate, 71, was right and I for sure finished paperwork for that. Notwithstanding, my accomplice had me down for a 5 on one opening where I made a 6, and a 4 on another, where I made 3.
"Very frustrating as I really set aside the effort to change the first blunder, just to make a costlier one myself."
