Malta's first case of coronavirus has been identified in a 12-year-old Italian young lady who lives on the island, Health Minister Chris Fearne said on Saturday.
The young lady tested positive for the illness from the get-go Saturday and is accepting treatment in the infectious diseases unit of the state hospital, the minister said, including she "is progressing nicely".
She returned toward the end of last month from the northern Italian district of Trentino, passing through the capital Rome, with her parents and sister and announced symptoms on Friday.
