The European Union should scrap its Emissions Trading System or absolved Poland from the plan, which helps battle an unnatural weather change, to let loose assets for Warsaw to battle the impacts of the coronavirus, a senior Polish authority said.

Under the ETS, the EU charges for the option to produce carbon dioxide. European force generators, modern producers and carriers running flights inside the EU must purchase licenses to cover their discharges.

"The aftereffects of battling coronavirus will be excruciating. Clearly nations will be searching for additional cash to support their business and residents," Janusz Kowalski, Deputy Minister of State Assets, told Reuters on Tuesday.
