My next release is an ep of three songs. They are all gentle pieces - and, to me, feel rooted in the countryside I know and love.
Fields, clouds, woods.
This will be the first release that I'm not pushing to Spotify - or possibly any of the big streaming services. Initially it'll just be available on Bandcamp, then some of the cryptostreaming sites.
Strangely, I'm pretty relaxed about putting a video up on YouTube, but won't be submitting to YouTube Music.
It'll be out in a couple of weeks. I'm aiming to do a press release and get that round some Internet Radio Stations and blogs. I've not really done that before - just put it out, and tweeted the link to Spotify. 😉🤷♂
Here's a sneaky preview of the video for the lead track, just for you my lovely Hive chums...

Is it me, or do I notice correctly this is the first comment you get on your post and music? Really? D*rn HIVE users. They need to open their eyes to the good stuff. I really like the music: Gentle (as you stated) for sure! Dream-like Trance-ish Ambient. Great video as well! You did some nice shooting and editing :)
I did notice YT having their own YT Music App and all, but didn't realise whatever music one posts to YT is not showing up in YT Music by default. Is YT moderating music for YT Music? Do the artists have to proof the music is in ownership of the artist? Hope you can shed some further light on what YT Music actually is and does, other then that its a music service :)
Indeed.
Us musicians are sensitive creatures, and I was starting to question whether it was just a bit rubbish! 😉
Not really - I think it's one of the nicest things I've done. Quite proud of it. So your kind words are most, most welcome. Thank you. 😊
I have to admit, though, that the video is all down to Rotor Videos - a lovely online video app that has a ton of stock clips (though you can upload your own), and video styles. Upload your music, choose a style and curate a bank of clips and it analyses your tune and tries to match the videos/transitions/etc to the music. I like it a lot - when it works (as here) it works well.
And YouTube Music is their take on a music streaming service. It's not videos, just the tracks. You submit to them (or your distributor does) just like you would Spotify, iTunes etc. It superseded Google Play Music a while back. YouTube will show both videos you upload yourself and music that has been submitted in search results, and if you are an artist 'sort of' brings them together. I'm not really a fan, but YMMV... 🤷♂
I'll post again when the ep is released - maybe I'll get more replies then....!
It's far off from being rubbish, sir! Please don't let your hum be decided by HIVE. Though HIVE is a great place, it can also be quite lonely. Sometimes the HIVE doesn't want to open a post, none of them. Usually, this has nothing to do with the quality of the post or the quality of heart in it, but you know that already (I suppose 😉).
Rotor videos: I bookmarked that one. I like to try. Need to steal some music though 🙂 I'll take some tracks from friends, am sure they don't mind. There is even a track out there called "Mr Ed". I assume that one is created for me 🤣🤣🤣
Oh, my tongue was firmly in my cheek. I’m more than used to the vagaries of online communities.
My ego remains intact. 😉😆👍
Super 🙂 👍
