The Web Of Family And Relative Ties!

in QC Community4 days ago (edited)

We all belong to a family, whether it's immediate, extended, adopted, foster, chosen (close friends and neighbors). Family is important, and that is why the members often strive to keep the family ties and bonds closely knitted.

Having said that, this quote clearly portrays what a family is.

A family is a group of people who are connected by love and shared experiences. - Unknown

For a family to exist, there must be people involved. These people can either be related by blood, marriage, or adoption, and equally share a bond of mutual affection, care, and support.

Furthermore, family can also be seen as a social unit that plays a significant role in the upbringing and development of its members.

For the well-being and harmony of any family, family values, such as love, loyalty, respect etc., must be clearly evident.

Although the concept of family can vary from culture to culture and person to person, it's ultimately about the bonds and relationships that matter most in life.

Any person, whether a family member, a relative, friend, business associate, who brings something unique and special to my life can be considered as family.

Family is not just about blood ties; it's about the people who make a difference in your life. - Unknown

Sharing DNA, genes, or blood indicates that two or more individuals are related, but these doesn't automatically make them "family". Family goes beyond that. It's a social construct that encompasses more than just biology, including emotional bonds, shared values, and experiences.
There are instances where people who are not biologically related can be closer than people who are, and they form family.

I'm grateful for the extraordinary bond I've formed with my friend Ngoo, whom I've had the privilege of knowing since 1999. Over the past decades, she has become a source of inspiration, encouragement, love and support. She's an amazing friend who's become like family; my sister, partner in crime and confidant.

Family members are relatives, but not all relatives are necessarily family members.

Anyone related to me through blood, lineage or ancestry is considered a relative, no matter how close or distant they are. That person too may not be family because they haven't proven themselves as one.
This clearly shows that the disparity between a relative and a family member is based on the nature of the relationship.

For instance, a paternal or maternal relative who does not have any close bond with me, and has never for once shown any support, care or love towards me is never my family. They're better off as relatives. I have quite a lot of them, lol.
Ngoo is neither a relative nor does she have any biological relationship with me, but she is family.

Family and relatives are a key part of what shapes us as individuals. They are Indispensable!

I appreciate your visit and support.

I loved this part. I haven't seen it that way but is so true, the people that are our family are the ones that always help us grow. And in some cases, they are the ones who push us and encourage us to grow.

who does not have any close bond with me... is never my family

I think this is the key. If you don't have a emotional connection or bond with someone they are not a part of your family.

Exactly. That's the essence of having a family.

Your thought is in line. There must be a somewhat connection between individuals for them to form family.
