My Old School Motto
I am constantly trying and learning new things. Heck I even named my Hive account new things when I was trying to learn all this new crypto stuff. My favorite learning style is just to jump right in and have a go. Sure I watch a few you tubes first and try to get the general idea. In the old days I might read a bit of a book, I borrowed from the library or asked someone at work if they knew anything about what I was attempting to do.
All the other learning styles seem to expensive and time consuming even if I do make a few extra mistakes by just rushing in and having a go. I seem to end way in front and more often than not, end up with a better job done and get some good practical experience.
My latest project to roofing repairs. Our house is getting old and though most things are in ok. The roof over 30 odd years has taken a beating and starting to show sights of cracking and in desperate need of a coat of paint. I reckon I have had enough experience to handle the painting but everyone told me repairs would be too much.
Of course this just got to fired up to do a bit of research, get my hands on some materials and start replacing some broken concrete roof tiles and to redo all the flexible ridge capping with new pointing cement/mortar.
It has taken longer than I was hoping but I am getting the hang of it now and starting to move a little faster.
My advise, Just get stuck in and have a go!
Doing that combination of watching a few videos and then getting stuck in and having a go was essentially what got my website built. So I think I'm getting better at borrowing from your process.
