QC weekly contest Topic #131: Giving up.

in QC Community13 days ago

Hello everyone and happy weekend,am super excited to be able to take part in this week's contest
The topic is really interesting and am here to share my opinion and to also learn from others.

What does giving up mean to you?

Giving up has a wide definition especially in different cases or situation.
Life itself has taught me alot of things, how to stay firm and and never give up and how to also let it go sometimes.
Therefore to me giving up is like letting things go,letting thing be, or quitting.

Have you ever given up in your life?

At this stage in my life i have given up for quite a few times in life, sometimes i regretted why i gave up and sometimes i felt better that i had given up.

Is it true people give up when success is very close?

From my personal experiences,i feel that most people though not all gives up when success is close because of impatient,i believe a little effort would have made a difference.

How do you know when to keep trying or when it's time to give up?

I remember when my life was filled with anxieties and worries,i came across a writeup somewhere that said:

"If you can fix it why worry
If you can't fix it why worry "

I took those words in and it shaped my life.
Yes,i know i love challenges, i love giving out my strength and my best,i love trying all options and i try my best never to give up, at least not easily.

  • But giving up comes when i have exhausted all possibly actions and i know that no matter what i do or say, things can't be fix, that's when i know that it's time to let go.
  • Another point is, when it's too draining and it's no longer healthy, and instead of losing my self in the process,i choose to give up.i place my mental and physical health above all.
  • I give up when am sure that the outcome doesn't worth the stress, the patience, the resources and the time.

There are advantages and disadvantages when we give up on things.
But having a balance on what to give up and what to hold onto is healthy.
Let's keep trying our best never to give up easily and not to lose ourselves in the process of holding on or going on.

THANK YOU.

You are right in your definition, sometimes is better to give up

because of impatient

This is such a great point. When we want something to happen immediately and it doesn't, it generates frustration, anxiety, and fear. Perhaps the solution in this case would be to take a step back and accept that it's going to take a little longer to get what we want.

I loved your 3 points to know when to give up, specially this one:

the outcome doesn't worth the stress, the patience, the resources and the time

Sometimes we can be so stubborn in wanting something, that we don't realize it's not worth doing all the work to get it.

Thank you so much @qc community
