It’s 2025 already 🫢😳😱. And sometimes that news feels like a hard pill to swallow. It was always fun saying next year, I’ll do this, next year I’ll do that… but it’s next year now.
I’ve always been a victim of procrastination but it ends this year. So, this year would be a new start for me. This year, I’ve set three ambitious, even “crazy”, goals that push my boundaries; where each one stems from a desire to expand my comfort zone and make a lasting impact.
- Write and publish a Book 📖🤭;
For years or would I say centuries 😅, I’ve had lots of ideas for different books bouncing around my mind but never followed through on it. I would always start a book and never finish it, it wasn’t that I had writers block or something, but it wasn’t just the fact that I was too lazy to
finish the storyline.
I could say that a talent of mine is writing, creative writing. From an early age, I’ve been very passionate about it, I wrote about fantasies that were very good if I do say so myself. As I grew I began to appreciate the Romance genre and so had a lot of great ideas on it but still never followed through on it.
But this year, I plan to dedicate the time and energy to finally write and publish a book. The book will center on Personal growth, A Relationship with God, the power of resilience, and overcoming obstacles in life. I would want to use that medium to share the lessons I’ve learned and inspire others who might be facing their own challenges. Even if it may contain some romance, I would want the plot not to be far fetched. It would be as realistic as possible too.
Achieving this goal would not only fulfill a long-held dream but also allow me to contribute something meaningful to the world. The process of writing will be difficult, I would want to quit on some days as usual, but the sense of accomplishment and purpose that would come from completing it would be unparalleled. If I achieve this goal, I’d feel incredibly proud of having brought my ideas to life.
2.Learn to play at least one Musical instrument;
It sounds so surreal even mentioning it 😅😂.
I’ve always been a huge fan of music. When I say music, I mean the type that moves the heart and touches the soul. The one that makes you smile, reminisce or fantasise. The one that it’s lyrics feel like it was just written to or for you. That’s the one, that’s the type that I’m speaking of.
As a creative writer, I’ve been blessed to possess such skill and partly because I’m a huge romantic 😚😅. But I give thanks to God anyways.
I have a few lyrics that I’ve written but I don’t really have a note to go with it. I just practically hum or drum the melody of the supposed song I guess 😅.
But this year, that’s gonna change. My favourite instrument so far is the Piano 🎹. The fact that the sound the keys produce, bring goosebumps whenever it’s played.
My Mom used to be a music teacher in high school a few years back is so thrilling but she never has the time to teach me though. She’s so good with Art and everything😊🥰.
This year, I’ve decided to join the church choir full time before I return back to college. I promised the Lord during the Confirmation service that I would serve Him with my voice and so, that’s what I would be doing.
I would like to write songs that will glorify Him and some love songs that are lovely.
If I manage to learn how to play tye piano, I’ll feel an overwhelming sense of achievement, knowing that I turned my ambition into reality through persistence and determination. - Maximise Utility of my Recreation period;
This goal involves using my free time in a meaningful way. I’ve always wanted to start content creation but due to the procrastination spirit that was following me last year 🙄😅😂, I’ve not been able to, so this year, I would want to do that. I would start little by little till I’m confident and would want to create content that are would make a positive impact too.
I would also like to engage in legal online activities that will help me get money 🥲. A girl has lots of needs 🥲. I wouldn’t like to stress my Parents so yeah, that’s what I would like to do.
If I achieve these goals, I would feel a deep sense of pride and fufillment, knowing that I not only challenged myself but also had a positive impact on others. It would prove to me that with focus, determination, hardwork and resilience and most importantly through God who strengthens me, anything is possible.
