Giving New Life to This Account - Exploring Interesting and Unique Natural locations All Around The World

in Wonders of Nature2 years ago

This is an old account I created back in 2018 for Actifit posts because I didn't want to use my main account @greddyforce to publish these a bit spammy-like posts to my followers. After a year I grew tired of these publications and making these posts felt forced so I quit. This account has been dormant for over 3 years now.

For a while, I have thought that I should do something else in addition to only blogging on my main account. Ultimately to make my experience here on hive even more versatile. When I first thought about it and wanted to create more engagement I created a fun and simple weather-predicting game that I host every month on my main account @greddyforce + a weather events specific community.

What more can I do

Start another blog on different topics than I usually do? Good idea but exactly what. It makes sense to only blog about stuff you are passionate about. If you are not and do some widely popular topics you don't really care about, you will soon start to feel like doing chores, nobody likes that. I don't really have anything more to blog about than I already do. Photography, nature, travel, the weather system. All These topics I'm passionate about and there is no need for another blog for the same kind of stuff.

Idea Arose

Two days ago I noticed a book I have again, a National Geographic book that's been sitting on a shelf collecting dust for many years. Im not really a person that likes to spend time reading books in my free time. Still, I remember that I have seen some contents of this book, and it's insanely interesting. It consists of spectacular photographs and writings of rarely seen places on earth. Places that are absolutely unique and special that many have no idea about existing, including me.

I wish I had the patience to actually read it because I really want to. It's a weird thing to say I know, I don't know how to explain the relationship between books and me 😀.

Then came the idea. I can turn these extraordinary places into Hive posts. It's hard to think about what to post when you also want to give value through your content. So this can be perfect, there are probably a ton more people besides me that have no idea about these special places exist. So these posts can be really educational and might give people some awesome travel ideas. This also gives me the opportunity to activate my old Hive account, meaning this account. Most of all, do something different here besides my personal blog and still keep doing what I love to do. Exploring what the nature of our planet has to offer. Oh yeah and I can slowly start going through this book I have when I am motivated to compose these posts.

The picture problem ( Solved )

After the great idea for another blog came, I quickly remembered that I'm gonna need pictures of the locations. Well, was a great idea but I can't make it happen because obviously I can't google the place and just use other people's photos. First of all the copyright problems that might arise and secondly, it's not a moral thing to do. I am a photographer myself and I wouldn't enjoy the idea that someone using my photos to make money without getting my permission. Especially when a lot of effort went into getting the picture after a hard hike or technical challenges.

Royalty-free photos are a no-go because there simply aren't any pictures I need. Especially photos from rare-to-see locations.
There is only one thing to do. Start licensing the photos for my posts, which I can find on stock photo sites. I don't even know if I can find pictures of very unknown locations. Fortunately, most of the places on earth have at least some pictures of them. Licensing photos for commercial use on my posts is not exactly a cheap thing to do.

I can hope that people value the content I will be making here and find it interesting. This particular account is an unknown account and I expect it will be a slow grind until I make anything. I remember the struggle with my other account when I started. Took some serious time to get noticed and start to earn something.

I also created this new community Wonders of Nature. This is gonna be used specifically for the topics of this account. Of course, you are also welcome to submit your own posts there if you wish so.

Of course, I will still post on my main account @greddyforce. This is going nowhere and will stay the place for my personal adventures, life and photography.

This account will just be a secondary project, an additional effort. Probably going to post 1 or 2 times per week, depending on the free time I have available, sometimes more sometimes less. I am looking forward to researching all the unique, special and some lesser-known natural marvels all around the world and bringing this content to you, exclusively here on Hive.

I encourage all of my main account followers who enjoy my content to follow on this one as well and just maybe, I don't have to start form a total zero.

Stay tuned 😋
