Fire Fighting: A Science and an Art- Fire mock-drill at my hospital.
Friends, welcome to my post today! I hope you all are happy and healthy. As usual, I woke up early this morning for Sehri since it’s Ramadan. After Sehri, I offered Fajr prayers and began my fast. The peaceful morning during Ramadan always fills me with positive. Throughout the day, I stayed engaged in my routine activities while maintaining patience and calmness. Fasting teach me self-control and helps strengthen our connection with Allah. As usual, duty was still gone today.
As usual, I started my work and met with patients, taking a round from an infection control perspective. In the afternoon, while I was sitting in my office, the fire alarm was announced. I immediately responded and joined the team for the mock drill. The staff followed the evacuation process efficiently, ensuring patient safety.
External trainers came to train between Mock drill, who were guiding us very much in fire fighting. He told us how many types of types are fired and which fire extinguisher can be used for those fires.
Type-A | Type-B | Type-C | Type-D |
---|---|---|---|
ordinary combustibles | flammable liquids | electrical fires | combustible metals |
So we also trained about these four types of fire. Many people do not know that which fire extinguisher is used in which fire. Most people seek water only when the fire broke out, but it does not happen. From where the fire starts, we have to try to stop the supply of oxygen. The fire and the support that are giving oxygen to the fire have to end the contact in the middle of both of them so that oxygen does not go there. If there is no oxygen, the fire will not increase and it will end.
All my staff was enjoying training very happily and we had enjoyed training well at the same time. The trainers also opened my staff to try to extinguish the fire by opening the fire exenguiseer. I liked it very much that my sub staff has been trained and I hope if the fire broke out in the future or there is a mockdide of the fire, then my staff will be first present.
After training, we all also gave a post training test and we had analyzed gap in Mock drill and covered the Area of Opportunity. In this way, I and my staff took part in training and made training successful. Learning fire fighting is very important in today's time and everyone should come. If we are capable, then we can save someone's life at all. Hopefully, all of you people would have liked my routine very much.
THANK YOU
