Don’t forget to try the Turkish Hammam as it will leave you invigorated and super relaxed. Also, you can easily wrap up the trip with an evening cruise along the famous Bosphorus River.

For accommodation I highly recommend staying in the old city - Sultan Ahmet area as it is easily accessible from all the main attractions. There are many reasonable hotel around that area and one of them is Artika - they have very good reviews and the service was excellent. I recommend Park Hyatt too but it is slightly on the higher price range. The turkish currency is Lira and currently ÂŁ1 equals 10 Liras approx.

Check the weather before you go but don’t take it for granted as weather forcasts change intermittently. It’s wise to be prepared for unexpected showers.

Few Turkish words that I picked up while on my trip are -
Thank you - Tesekkur Ederim
Please - Lutfen
Good Bye - Guley Guley

And of course maintain the local rules and respect the environment.
