Hello everyone
Every morning, my sister and I wake up early to prepare for our shop. But yesterday, we got up even earlier for a special mission—heading to Mae Sot Market to buy fresh ingredients for our noodle dishes and drinks. 🍜☕
We left home around 5:00 AM, embracing the cool morning air as we made our way to the market. The drive took about 50 minutes, with the sky gradually shifting from darkness to the soft hues of dawn. It was the perfect time to enjoy the peaceful countryside views along the way. 🌄
As soon as we arrived at the bustling Mae Sot Market, we were greeted by the lively sight of vendors calling out their prices and customers eagerly selecting their goods. The market was packed with stalls selling everything from fresh vegetables and aromatic herbs to dried ingredients and spices, filling the air with an irresistible mix of scents. 🥬🧄✨
Our mission was clear—we needed to find the best ingredients for our noodle dishes and freshly brewed drinks. We carefully browsed through the market, making sure to pick the freshest produce, fragrant seasonings, and high-quality ingredients. The search took almost an hour, but once our shopping bags were full, we wasted no time. We hopped back into the car and headed straight home, eager to open our café for the day. 🚗☀️
Before heading to the café, I made a quick stop at our backyard vegetable garden. This little green haven, lovingly tended by my mother, is home to a variety of fresh produce. 🌿🥬✨
Many of the vegetables she grows are perfect for making our noodle soup broth and serving as fresh side greens for our customers. Walking through the garden in the soft morning light, I could see the leaves glistening with tiny dewdrops, making everything look even more inviting. There’s something truly special about using homegrown ingredients—it adds an extra touch of freshness and love to every dish we serve. 💚
The lush green and purple lettuce that my mother grows has grown into impressively large clusters. Since each head of lettuce is quite big, I usually harvest only two to three heads per day—just enough for our customers to enjoy alongside their noodle dishes. 🥗🍜
I prefer to pick the lettuce in small batches rather than harvesting too much at once. This way, we ensure that every serving is as fresh and crisp as possible. If we ever run low, I can always return to the garden to pick more. There’s nothing quite like the taste of freshly harvested greens—they add a delightful crunch and natural sweetness to every meal! 💚✨
Our homegrown cilantro plays a key role in making our noodle soup extra flavorful. My mother has a knack for growing the most vibrant, aromatic cilantro, and every part of it is put to good use. 🌿✨
The roots are essential for making a rich and fragrant broth, while the stems and leaves are finely chopped and sprinkled over each bowl of noodles, adding a fresh, herby touch. There's something truly special about using garden-fresh cilantro—it enhances the flavors of our dishes in a way that store-bought herbs simply can’t match! 🍜
My mother tends to a large patch of cilantro, where rows of vibrant green leaves sway gently in the morning breeze. Every day, as the sun rises, she carefully harvests some of the fresh cilantro, washes it thoroughly, and prepares it for sale. 🌿✨
She supplies the local grocery store in our village, earning a little extra income from her homegrown herbs. It may seem like a small task, but there’s something rewarding about seeing her carefully nurtured produce being enjoyed by others. Plus, it’s always nice to know that our village gets to experience the same fresh, fragrant cilantro that we use in our noodle soup! 💚
We were busy from early morning until late afternoon, serving a steady stream of customers. The café was bustling, and before we knew it, lunchtime had already passed! It wasn’t until things started to slow down that we finally had a moment to sit and enjoy a meal. 🍜☕
To recharge, we made a spicy papaya salad—the perfect afternoon treat. 🌶️🥗 We didn’t hold back on the flavors, making it extra bold and fiery, just the way we love it. To make it even more indulgent, we added braised chicken feet, which soaked up all the tangy, spicy dressing, making each bite incredibly flavorful. It was the perfect way to reward ourselves after a long, busy day! 😋🔥
As the sun slowly dipped toward the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over our little café, we finally had a chance to catch our breath. The day had been long and busy, but there was something deeply satisfying about seeing happy customers enjoy the food we had carefully prepared. 🍜✨
Sitting together, savoring our spicy papaya salad, we laughed about the little moments of the day—the rush of the morning market, the fresh scent of herbs from the garden, and the endless orders that kept us on our feet. Even though it had been exhausting, it was the kind of exhaustion that felt worth it—a day filled with good food, hard work, and shared moments with family. 💛
As we cleaned up and prepared for the next day, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for these simple yet meaningful experiences. Life in a small village may not be extravagant, but it’s filled with flavors, laughter, and warmth—and to me, that’s more than enough. 😊
