Hello everyone
Today, I had an appointment to pick up my new car at the MG dealership in Mae Sot. Last week, I brought my MG ZS in for its 80,000 km scheduled maintenance. Normally, I would get this done at the MG center in Phuket, but since I’m currently helping my sister set up her café in Phop Phra, I had to do it here instead.
It took nearly four hours to complete because of the number of parts that needed replacing. While waiting, I wandered around the showroom and checked out the latest models. A friendly salesperson approached me and introduced me to one of their 100% electric vehicles. Their great service and enthusiasm really impressed me.
Truthfully, I was planning to switch to an EV next year... but the moment I saw the MG4 Y24C, I was absolutely smitten! 😍 The design was beautiful, the larger battery meant more driving range, and after taking it for a test drive — well, I just couldn’t resist. That’s how I ended up making the switch to electric much sooner than expected. ⚡🚗💚
I had spent the past week preparing all the documents needed for my new car purchase. Just yesterday, I sold my previous car, and this morning — around 10 AM — the MG salesperson kindly came to pick me up from my sister’s house to head over to the dealership.
It took quite a bit of time to go through all the paperwork and contracts, as well as downloading several EV charging apps onto my phone. Since this is my very first electric car, the staff took their time to guide me through everything I needed to know — from how to charge the car, use the onboard system, and make the most of the car’s features. It was a lot to take in, but they were incredibly patient and helpful. ⚡📱📝
After signing all the purchase documents and installing the EV apps, the MG dealership officially handed over my new car. 🚗✨
They also walked me through the interior features, most of which were quite similar to my previous car — with just a few changes here and there. I appreciated how smooth the transition felt. Despite being my first electric vehicle, everything was surprisingly easy to understand.
After that, the sales representative kindly took me to a nearby charging station located inside a gas station. ⛽⚡️
There, I learned how to charge the battery and make a payment using one of the EV charging apps we had just installed. It was my first time doing this, so having someone guide me step-by-step made it a lot easier and less intimidating.
After learning how to charge the battery, it was finally time to drive my new EV home.
I felt a mix of excitement and curiosity as I got behind the wheel. The ride was incredibly smooth and quiet, and I couldn’t help but smile the entire way. There’s something special about driving a car for the first time — especially when it’s your very own electric car. 💚⚡🚗
While I was driving, my sister called and asked me to pick up some roasted coffee beans for her café. So I made a quick stop at a coffee shop that also sells beans. ☕️🌰
As I walked up to the counter to pay, I couldn’t help but notice the food menu—and just like that, the hunger hit me! 😅 I ended up ordering a drink and some food to enjoy before continuing my journey home.
Of course, I ordered my all-time favorite — an iced matcha latte. 🍵❄️
But after the first sip, I couldn’t help but compare it to the one my sister makes for me every day… and honestly, I have to say — hers is better! Maybe it’s the love she puts into it, or maybe I’ve just been spoiled by her perfect matcha recipe. 😄💕
Not long after, the food I ordered was served at my table. I was honestly quite hungry by then, so I didn’t waste any time digging in! 🍽️😋
The food turned out to be really tasty — flavorful and satisfying, just what I needed after a long, exciting day.
Once I arrived home, I took my mom straight to the temple. In Thai culture, it’s believed that when you get a new car, you should bring it to a monk for a blessing ceremony.
The monk ties a white sacred thread around the steering wheel, sprinkles holy water, and offers prayers for protection and good fortune. It’s a traditional practice — rooted in belief rather than science — but it brings peace of mind, and I was happy to do it. 🙏🚘💦
Driving my new MG4 EV home for the first time, getting it blessed at the temple, and enjoying a peaceful moment with my mom — it all felt like a perfect way to start this new chapter.
Owning an electric car is something I’ve dreamed of, and even though it came a little sooner than expected, I’m excited for what’s ahead. From saving energy to exploring new places more sustainably, this car isn’t just a vehicle — it’s a small step toward a more mindful lifestyle.
And of course, knowing it’s been blessed gives me that little extra comfort on the road. Here’s to many smooth, safe, and meaningful journeys to come. 💚⚡🚗
