One night, in a park in Bauta, talking with friends about many things, this summer idea came up: to go to some natural place, where we could breathe pure health.
Among so many proposals was El Ojito de Agua. Part of the Ariguanabo River in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, far from the city, these springs spring forth.
Therefore, these three musketeers left early looking for an adventure.

Nature sounds were the main background, crikets and birds. So peaceful and nice. My friends were visiting the place for the first time, I knew they were gonna like it. In the other hand, I was very familiar with these waters. My dad used to take me when I was little.
El Ojito de Agua is a recreational area in the Ariguanabo River. This is a Cuban river that runs for 11 km in the west of the island. It originates in the Ariguanabo Lagoon, San Antonio de los Baños, in the province of Artemisa and flows into the Gulf of Batabanó.
Its name designates the gentilic of the inhabitants of San Antonio de los Baños, the so-called "ariguanabenses".
The place has some gastronomic offers, though limited. It is recommended that you take your snacks, drinks or lunch.
Admission costs $50 CUP (0.15 USD) for adults, $30 CUP for children and $25 CUP for parking. Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
El Ojito de Agua has spaces for hiking lovers where you can see various types of plants and local fauna. After taking some pictures of the silent morning we started walking towards the trails. This time a part was covered with lots of vegetation due to the heavy rains of these days. Once we made it through it was easier to go among them. Everything was so green and we saw some wildlife there too.

One of the many attractions is the wooden suspension bridge and also a cave with an underground river suitable for swimming. It is impressive to cross the bridge at first for those who arent used to this kind of adventures but then it is so enjoyable to be able to observe the river from above.

After walking around trails, bridges and caves we spent the rest of the day swimming in the river, we even jump from the bridge. What a great experience.

Certainly, a natural environment in the province of Artemisa for everyone to enjoy.

The place is very nice, natural itself. Those who care for it do a good job maintaining the gardening and even the swimming area where the algae grows rapidly. In gratitude for this great work, we as visitors have the sacred duty to help clean up the environment.

HAVE FUN, BE HAPPY, CONSUME AND LEAVE EVERYTHING CLEAN WHEN YOU LEAVE.
A simple way to maintain cleanliness is to throw trash into a nylon bag: cans, papers, wrappers of cookies, etc. All in a nylon bag and throw it away when you leave. This will help to keep the beauty of the place for new visitors or for when you return.

NATURE IS BEAUTIFUL. LET'S TAKE CARE OF IT!!!

Ojito De Agua

Una noche, en un parque de Bauta, conversando con amigos de muchas cosas, surgió esta idea veraniega: ir a algún lugar natural, donde se pudiera respirar pura salud.
Entre tantas propuestas estaba El Ojito de Agua. Parte del río Ariguanabo en San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, lejos de la ciudad, brotan estos manantiales.
Por eso, estos tres mosqueteros partieron temprano en busca de una aventura.

Los sonidos de la naturaleza eran el fondo principal, grillos y pájaros. Tan tranquilo y agradable. Mis amigos visitaban el lugar por primera vez, sabía que les iba a gustar. Por otro lado, yo estaba muy familiarizado con estas aguas. Mi papá me llevaba cuando era pequeño.
El Ojito de Agua es un área recreativa en el río Ariguanabo. Este es un río cubano que corre por 11 km en el oeste de la isla. Nace en la Laguna Ariguanabo, San Antonio de los Baños, en la provincia de Artemisa y desemboca en el Golfo de Batabanó.
Su nombre designa el gentilicio de los habitantes de San Antonio de los Baños, los llamados "ariguanabenses".
El lugar cuenta con algunas ofertas gastronómicas, aunque limitadas. Se recomienda llevar bocadillos, bebidas o almuerzo.
La entrada cuesta $50 CUP (0.15 USD) para adultos, $30 CUP para niños y $25 CUP para el estacionamiento. Abierto de martes a domingo de 8:00 am a 6:00 pm.
El Ojito de Agua cuenta con espacios para los amantes del senderismo donde se pueden observar diversos tipos de plantas y fauna local. Después de tomar algunas fotografías de la silenciosa mañana, comenzamos a caminar hacia los senderos. Esta vez, una parte estaba cubierta de mucha vegetación debido a las fuertes lluvias de estos días. Una vez que la atravesamos fue más fácil pasear en ellos. Todo estaba muy verde y también vimos algo de vida silvestre allí.

Uno de los muchos atractivos es el puente colgante de madera y también una cueva con un río subterráneo apto para nadar. Es impresionante cruzar el puente al principio, para aquellos que no están acostumbrados a este tipo de aventuras pero luego es muy agradable poder observar el río desde arriba.

Después de caminar por senderos, puentes y cuevas pasamos el resto del día nadando en el río, incluso saltamos desde el puente. ¡Qué gran experiencia!

Con certeza, un entorno natural en la provincia de Artemisa para el disfrute de todos.

El lugar es muy bonito, natural en sí. Los que lo cuidan hacen un buen trabajo manteniendo la jardinería e incluso la zona de balnearia donde las algas crecen rápidamente. En agradecimiento por esta gran labor, nosotros como visitantes tenemos el sagrado deber de ayudar a limpiar el medio ambiente.

DIVIÉRTETE, SÉ FELIZ, CONSUME Y DEJA TODO LIMPIO CUANDO TE VAYAS.
Una forma sencilla de mantener la limpieza es tirar la basura en una bolsa de nylon: latas, papeles, envoltorios de galletas, etc. Todo en una bolsa de nylon y tirarla a la basura cuando te vayas. Esto ayudará a mantener la belleza del lugar para los nuevos visitantes o para cuando usted regrese.

LA NATURALEZA ES HERMOSA. ¡¡¡CUIDEMOSLA!!!
