I could barely spare time for the continuation of the previous two chapters. We came to the world to deal with life at work :) I thought it would be more appropriate to start the post with the photos of the historical heeled fountain. This fountain now seems insignificant and has lost its value. It is claimed that the construction of the historical fountain dates back to Byzantium. Çatalca has always been the favorite of sultans and emperors with its natural environment. Sultans choose this place to hunt. There is a historical bath in the city. A hamam built for an Ottoman sultan. Anyway, let's stay on topic. According to rumors;
The Topuklu Fountain, located in the Kaleiçi District of the Çatalca District, was built with masonry stone material in the form of an iwan with a slightly pointed arch and keystone ornaments. There is a niche and a mineral mirror stone decorated with plants, and there is a large pool in front of it. Topuklu Fountain, whose water was brought by the Byzantines, was built by Sultan II. It was built by Ahmet between 1687 and 1691. There is also a historical plane tree in the square where the fountain, which has preserved its original form until today, is located, together with the pool in front of it.

It is now far out of the city and in a neglected state. Old people know that there used to be such fountains and buckets of water were brought to the houses. Everyone in the vicinity had to meet their daily water needs in this way, regardless of far or near.
In fact, when viewed from afar, its neglect is striking. Çatalca is a town with a history but not protected by its historical monuments. Since it was used as a hunting ground for the sultans, it is not very developed. Çatalca district is the lung of Istanbul.
From this point of view, the distance of the cats to the fountain and the house I mentioned can be seen clearly. I will add photos from another angle
Up close, the neglect of the historical fountain becomes clearer.
Since the pool of the historical fountain is empty, water does not flow to the small bowl-like structures in front of it. In these structures, instead of water, there is garbage and leaves of plane trees. Obviously, the historical fountain is rarely cleaned.
I think these places where water should flow were used for animals to drink water. Since there are not many animals living in the district and water is easily accessible, it is no longer needed. I will not show more details because the historical fountain is neglected. I hope the authorities will restore the historical fountain as soon as possible.
There is algae on the outside of the pool. It is a pity that a historical building is so neglected. I will share other details with plenty of photos in the fourth post of the series. Bu çeşme artık önemsiz ve değerini yitirmiş olarak gözükmekte. Tarihi çeşmenin yapımı bizansa dayandığı iddia edilmektedir. Çatalca hep doğal ortamıyla padişah ve imparatorların gözdesi olmuştur. Padişahlar avlanmak için burayı seçmektedir. Şehirde tarihi bir hamamda var. Bir osmanlı padişahına yapılmış bir hamam. Neyse konumuzdan ayrılmayalım. Rivayetlere göre;
Çatalca İlçesi merkezinde, Kaleiçi Mahallesi’nde yer alan Topuklu Çeşmesi, hafif sivri kemerli ve kilit taşı süslemeli eyvan biçimde yığma taş malzeme ile inşa edilmiştir. Bir nişi ve bitkisel süslemeli madeni ayna taşı mevcut olup, önünde genişçe bir havuz yer almaktadır. Suyu Bizanslılarca getirilen Topuklu Çeşmesi Sultan II. Ahmet tarafından 1687 –1691 tarihleri arasında yaptırılmıştır. Önünde bulunan havuzu ile beraber günümüze kadar özgün halini koruyan çeşmenin bulunduğu meydanda bir de tarihi çınar ağacı bulunmaktadır.

Şimdilerde şehrin çok dışında ve bakımsız durumda kalmış. Yaşlı insanlar bilir eskiden böyle çeşmeler olurmuş ve evlere kovalarla sular götürülürmüş. Çevredeki herkes uzak veya yakın demeden günlük su ihtiyaçlarını böyle karşılamak zorundaymış.
Aslında uzaktan bakıldığında da bakımsız kalışı göze çarpıyor. Çatalca tarihi olan fakat tarihi eserlerine sahip çıkılmayan bir ilçe durumunda. Padişahların av yeri olarak kullanıldığından pek gelişmemiş bulunmaktadır. İstanbul'un akçiğeridir Çatalca ilçesi.
Bu açıdan kedilerin çeşmeye olan uzaklığı ve o bahsettiğim ev net görülüyor. Başka açıdan fotoğraflarını ekleyeceğim
Yakından tarihi çeşmenin bakımsızlığı daha net belli oluyor.
Tarihi çeşmenin havuzu boş olduğundan dolayı önündeki küçük tas gibi yapılara su akmamaktadır. Bu yapılarda su yerine çöp ve çınar ağacının yaprakları var. Belli ki tarihi çeşme nadiren temizleniyor.
Bu su akması gereken yerler sanıyorum eskiden hayvanların su içmesi içindi. Artık ilçede pek hayvan yaşamadığı ve suya rahatça ulaşılabildiğinden dolayı kullanımına gerek kalmadı. Daha fazla detay göstermeyeceğim çünkü tarihi çeşme bakımsız kalmış. Umarım yetkililer en kısa zamanda tarihi çeşmenin restorasyonunu yapar.
Havuzun dış yüzeyinde yosunlanma mevcut. Tarihi bir yapının bu denli bakımsız kalması üzücü. Diğer detayları serinin dördüncü postunda bol fotoğrafla birlikte paylaşacağım. Ama bu fotoğrafla yazıyı bitirmek istemiyorum. Daha önceden ayarladığım ve aynı gün çektiğim yavru kedinin fotoğrafını koymak istiyorum. Yazımı okuyarak zaman ayırdığınız için teşekkür ederim.
