Good afternoon, approaching evening, all my hive friends, I will post a photo of a roti jala cake

Roti Jala is a traditional Malaysian snack cake known for its unique lacy appearance, made by pouring batter onto a hot pan in a circular motion, forming a net-like pattern. The name "Roti Jala" literally means "net bread" in English. It is often served with curries, such as chicken or beef curry, but can also be enjoyed with sugar or a sweet sauce for a lighter snack.

Here is the basic recipe for making Roti Jala cake:

Ingredients:

1 cup wheat flour

1 cup coconut milk

1 egg

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp turmeric powder (optional, for coloring)

1 cup water

Oil or butter for greasing the pan

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the wheat flour, coconut milk, egg, salt, and turmeric powder (if using).

  2. Gradually add water to the batter until it has a smooth, runny consistency. You want the batter to be slightly thinner than pancake batter.

  3. Heat a non-stick pan or a flat pan over medium heat and grease it with some oil or butter.

  4. Pour the batter into a Roti Jala mold or a squeezable bottle with a small hole (alternatively, you can use a ladle and pour it in little by little).

  5. When the pan is hot, squeeze the batter into the pan in a circular lace pattern. You can form small or larger circles as you like.

  6. Let it cook for about 1-2 minutes until the edges turn golden, then carefully flip it over to cook the other side for 30 seconds to 1 minute.

This jala cake is often sold around stalls and in the cake shops of my Hive friends.
