In my journey to Aceh, I found a unique culinary named "Ayam Pramugari". Despite its unique name, you might be misled and think that Ayam Pramugari is processed by a flight attendant or found on an aircraft. However, the tall and slender posture like that of a flight attendant on the plane is the inspiration for this culinary name.
At some of Aceh's traditional restaurants, you can easily find Ayam Pramugari. What's even more special, this cuisine uses large village chickens with long legs. The chicken is only fried when there is a customer ordering it, ensuring a fresh taste. The chicken is cleaned, marinated, then fried evenly until it shines golden brown. After that, the chicken is given slices of pandan leaves, temuru leaves, and lemon leaves.
Ayam Pramugari is served with a special sauce made of red onions, lime, and chili or even with a delicious goat curry sauce.
Then, making the experience of savoring ayam pramugari even more special, is because the restaurant serving this cuisine is located near Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport. So, you can see the flight path of airplanes while enjoying this unique and delicious ayam pramugari dish.
