Humcha is a small village in the state of Karnataka in India. Atmost there was 100 homes in the whole village. There was only one street in the village for the living.
In the name of Shops, there was 1 tea shop and 1 general store. Apart from that there was nothing else. There was no school no hospital no nothing in the village.
But what this village has i dont think so any other place in this country has.
This place called HUMCHA, has a very famus temple devoted to Lord Parasnath, whose cheif is Devi Padmavati. To whom a sub temple is devoted as well.
The place is revered and famous for the temple of Padmavati. This place is the seat HUMBAJ MATHA ( Jain monestry).
The Bhattaraka seat at Humcha, famous for the Humcha Padmavati temple, was founded in the 8th century AD, during the reign of Jinadatta Raya, founder of the ruling dynasty of Santara. So all in all this is about 1200 years old.
The tales of two temples
The Older temple is about 1200 years aold and all the idols are broken in it. It was due to looting by the Invaders. Older temple is qute haunted and you feel goosebumps. The new temple is the seat of matha. and it is quite big to be honest. Photography is prohibited in the temple premices. But i stole couple of shots.
