Yes, it is quite high, last month one of the groups I do tours with went to climb it, but I couldn't go because I couldn't afford it this time (it cost $500).
If I remember correctly, I think the highest peak I have climbed is Piedras Blancas (4,737 meters), in Mérida, Venezuela.
Wow, still a very impressive achievement :) The highest mountain in my country is just 1,603 meters :D :/ I hope you will get to climb the Himalays one day :)
