Is it fun or scary to go up and look down? I think both are correct. There are viewing terraces in many parts of the Aegean that give us this opportunity. There is nothing like watching this beautiful geography from above. The most beautiful viewing terrace I have ever seen was Akyaka Observation Terrace. Today I want to show you this.

Bu güzelim coğrafyayı tepeden seyretmek gibisi yok. Benim şimdiye kadar gördüğüm en güzel seyri terası da Akyaka Seyir Terası idi. Bugün sizlerle bunu göstermek istiyorum.
Akyaka Observation Terrace comes across after leaving the city center of Muğla and falling on the road to Marmaris. When we come to the Ula region, we turn to the turn with the sign for the terrace and climb up a high hill. After climbing for about 10 minutes by car, we come to a flat on the hill and we are on the Akyaka Observation Terrace.
Akyaka Seyir Terası Muğla'nın şehir merkezinden çıkıp Marmaris yoluna düştükten sonra karşımıza çıkıyor. Ula bölgesine geldiğimizde seyri terası tabelası yazan sapağa dönüyor ve yüksek bir tepeye doğru tırmanıyoruz. Araçla yaklaşık 10 dakika tırmandıktan sonra tepede bir düzlüğe geliyoruz ve Akyaka Seyir Terasındayız.
From the area where the viewing terrace is located, you can see the unique nature of Muğla from as wide a perspective as possible. It is as if the whole Gulf of Gökova is laid under your feet. Akyaka on one side and Marmaris on the other. Akyaka's summer houses, hotels and other places seem to be only a point size from here. While taking the photos with my camera, I tried to scale up as close as possible, but when I was at a really high position, the details still looked small.
Seyir terasının bulunduğu bölgeden Muğla'nın eşsiz doğasını mümkün olduğunca geniş bir açıdan fazlasıyla görebiliyorsunuz. Ayaklarınızın altına bütün Gökova körfezi seriliyor sanki. Bir yanda Akyaka, bir yanda Marmaris yönü görünüyor. Akyaka'nın yazlık evleri, oteller ve diğer mekanları buradan yalnızca bir nokta büyüklüğüne sahip gibi duruyor. Fotoğraf makinemle fotoğrafları alırken mümkün olduğu kadar yakın çekimler de yapıp bu ölçeği büyütmeye çalıştım fakat hakikaten çok yüksek bir konumdayken ayrıntılar hala küçük görünüyordu.
The famous lovers' road of Marmaris, who knows, here stands like a string of pearls from the trees. Let me give you a brief information about Marmaris lovers road. Once upon a time, there was a swamp in this area. Since the best method to dry the swamp is to plant eucalyptus trees, eucalyptus trees were planted on the old Marmaris road. Of course, over time, the swamp dried up and eucalyptus trees reached gigantic sizes. Now, when you look from the top, these trees, like a long row of pearls, smile at us. Over time, this road became obsolete, and its name became the lovers' road.
Marmaris'in meşhur aşıklar yolu, bilen bilir, burada ağaçlardan bir dizi inci gibi duruyor. Marmaris aşıklar yolu ile ilgili de kısa bir bilgi vereyim. Zamanında bu bölgede bir bataklık varmış. Bataklığı kurutacak en iyi yöntem de okaliptus ağacı dikmek olduğu için eski Marmaris yoluna sağlı sollu okaliptus ağaçları dikilmiş. Tabi zamanla bataklık kurumuş ve okaliptus ağaçları devasa boylara ulaşmış. Şimdi tepeden baktığınızda uzunca bir sıra inci gibi bu ağaçlar bize gülümsüyor. Zamanla bu yol kullanımdan kalkmış, adı da aşıklar yolu olmuş.
Frankly, there is nothing more to be done than watching the sky and the earth on the Akyaka Observation Terrace. There is a small buffet for those who want to eat and drink while spending time. There are simple foods and drinks such as tea, coffee and toast here, but you don't look for too much on the viewing terrace. Because the eerie feeling of height you are in is so beautiful that you can sit quietly for hours. I would definitely recommend Akyaka Viewing Terrace to those who want to experience this feeling. Akyaka Seyir Terasında gökyüzünü ve yeryüzünü seyretmekten daha fazla yapılabilecek pek bir şey yok açıkçası. Zaman geçirirken bir şeyler yiyip içmek isteyenler için küçük bir büfe bulunuyor. Burada çay, kahve, tost gibi basit yiyecek ve içecekler bulunuyor ama seyir terasında çok fazla da bir şey aramıyorsunuz.
