Yeah... i ran a popular backpackers hotel in Guatemala. But the country went into lockdown on march 17th.. all businesses had to close. Hotels could stay open... i went from the sunday night 94% occupancy and on the Tuesday 16%. So yeah.. the travel scene is rough.
We pivoted to long term rental. I had to lay off 18 workers. My 60 bed hostel now has 6 guests.
Somehow it is still fine though. I'm hopeful. It's gonna be a rough few years... but we will make it through.
